I've only done one game so I'll just start again. I was thinking about going the Vikings anyway.

Can't argue with Teddy Time
Annoyed that when they update rosters the free players aren't available on older FM saves. Really want Bojay Filimoeatu :<

I wasn't sure if they did or not which would mean Teddy would stay a 78 or whatever he is. Another question do you do the fantasy draft thing first season or just keep the rosters that are there?

Also if you wanna make life a lot easier take the salary cap off. I did that for my Jaguars one this year just to see what kind of mad team I could come up with.

I don't necessarily want it to be easier, I just want it to be "right" if that makes sense. I don't want to get halfway through and realise I haven't done a certain setting or I've made it too easy for myself.
I want to do it properly is basically what I'm saying. It's like when you used to play Master League on Pro Evo, you HAD to start with the default players, if you started with a proper team anything you achieved doesn't count in my eyes.

I keep the rosters as they are rather than the fantasy one. Think those ones are just for a laugh. And yeah players develop, Teddy is class in year 4 of my raiders save. Make sure you check out some slider settings me and cos posted a few pages ago or Google some to find as the default settings are poop. Don't do what I did and worry about nailing a good player during trade periods etc, the draft is your friend! Oh, and when it comes to resigning players don't worry about doing them all at once. You won't have enough money but that'll come easy enough. But also go heavy on the bonus money as that's what the players are mostly interested in (that money is guaranteed). I spent too many saves having to restart as I didn't really get how to negotiate properly and so kept losing everyone to free agency.

Btw, you develop the players yourself using their Game XP. If you wanna upgrade them quicker you can use GamePrep but I've enjoyed it better not using it this time round. Plus have a good season and your youngsters like Teddy and Cordarelle can come away with 50,000 XP to spend anyway which will take them from a 78/80 whatever to high 80s pretty quickly.

What a fucking cock I am. First game of the season at the Rams down 24-10 and pulled it back to 24-24 then managed to get them to punt it to me with 50 seconds left so I thought ey up let's fucking win it. Threw an interception and lost 27-24.

Oh Chappy, in situations like that it's all about the high percentage throws, run screens and corner/out routes and avoid putting the ball across the middle of the field. If you've got timeouts, run draw plays or counter runs to try and catch the defense out
Maximise your possible gain while posting no risk of turnovers, don't be tempted by the deep ball until you're across halfway

Yeah I was slinging the ball down the field like an absolute melon. Thing is it's not like I didn't know not to do that, I just lost my head thinking I was the bees knees with my comeback.
I had 3 timeouts as well.

As an aside, just went 0-1 in spectacular fashion 27-10 @ Cincy. Starting QB went 0 for 5 and an interception before going off injured, then his backup came on and started 2 of 9 for 9 yards and a fumble returned for a TD, so I brought on my 3rd string QB who immediately got battered and had to come off again for my backup again, who finished a stunning 12 of 34 for 0 TDs and 2 INTs and a 22.1 passer rating. My starter got a flat 0.0
Worst part about it was that I played fantastic D all game, their 3 touchdowns were a fumble return, a kick return and a short run after an interception was returned to the 1 yard line
78 yards and a TD for Austin Ray tho

All-Madden QB Ac. 5/35 P Blk 25/55 WR Catch 47/47 Run Blk 0/50 Fumbles 55/50 PD Reactions 65/75 Interceptions 30/45 Pass Cvg. 35/75 Tackling 50/55 ChappyHova these are the sliders I'm currently using, get a pretty realistic game out of it. Although I expect you'll want to maybe set the base difficulty to All-Pro (after the sliders it only really affects the complexity of the AI play calling and their play recognition, and the speed of the kick meter) and bump CPU pass reaction time down (try 50 for starters and go from there) and probably put user run blocking and QB accuracy each up to about 25

ange postecoslamp I downloaded some sliders called AzureSimSliders from the menu, they seem decent but will give yours a go tomorrow. I'm pretty awful at the game tbh, anything I do defensively is the computer doing it for me rather than me doing anything. Just seems like luck defensively.

With defence watch what players they have out, and take note of the field position and what down it is. If it's 2nd and 10, they're in their own half and have one RB with the rest made up of TEs and WRs then you know a pass play is the most likely thing you're going to face. You can go Man, Zone or a Man-Zone combo. Man marking on pass plays is <<< usually will result in them picking up some form of yardage. Either go Zonal or Zonal and man mixed. As for what type, again you sort of just have to read the game. If it's a close game, chances are they're not going to try anything risky and they'll be looking to just make the first down, so you won't be wanting to set deep zones. You'll want short to medium zone marking, with a possible QB spy set up. On the flip side if it's 1st and 10 or 2nd/3rd and short yardage and they have a RB and a FB lined up, with 1/2 WRs then there's a good chance it's going to be a run play in which case smash the run blitz.
Defence is probably the hardest part of Madden to get right when you do it by yourself, but if you don't play the cycle and random guess a play game and actually use all the info you have then you can usually make an educated guess. Don't forget about defencive audibles too, they're vital in certain situations.
