Plus in that window they let go two players who could play up front. It's beyond farcical.
Helps Mallorca though so I'm all for it.

I simply don't get it. If a Premier League club ran out of senior strikers, a thing that clubs like Newcastle and Crystal Palace have been very close to it's tough shit and you play the youth or go unorthodox. You're telling me Messi couldn't do a job up front for a bit? Yeah it's not ideal but tough, you have the transfer windows to plan for the worst.

Emergency keepers are fine but an emergency striker is the stupidest shit I’ve heard this year. Even worse when they’ve already got Messi and Griezmann

I know it wouldn't happen because it was dependent on the release clause, but can you imagine if we went out and got Pukki to make up for Kane and Son being out, potentially sending Norwich down? Batshit

"Real Madrid is a fantastic club. Wonder how much money they'll throw at me. What a wonderful club. Obviously I'm a Man City player so I can't comment on Real Madrid but what a massive club they are. Gareth Bale gets about half a million a week, I wonder what they'd offer me, I'm five years younger. Zidane, what a legend. Apparently I'm happy at Manchester City so I can't really say too much. What a player Zidane was by the way, and three Champions League wins as a manager. I could go there and be the new Ronaldo but we'll have to wait and see because they keep telling me I'm happy here and I can't comment too much on another club. Did you know that the Bernabeu holds over 80,000? Incredible."

Its this sentence that does it for me; "But at the same time, I have a contract with City now and I have to respect this". More than likely just poorly worded more than anything but to say he has to honour his City contract bang smack in the middle of romanticising about Real's white shirts, Zidane and the club in general, is somewhere between mild flirtation and full on cock teasing Real/Zidane

Don’t get it myself. Not like we need to expect he wants to stay at Man City forever. It’s really tame imo like if it was out of the blue maybe fair enough but they’re literally about to play Real Madrid. Sterling’s grown up in the midst of Real Madrid and Barcelona firmly positioning themselves as the top 2 clubs on the planet in a world where moving abroad isn’t anywhere near as drastic as it used to be, so I find it hard to imagine many young players who didn’t dream of playing for them. I just hate the way players are criticised for showing a bit of honesty that yeah, I would maybe like to play somewhere else one day, but then they’re criticised as being liars if they pledge false loyalty.

I understand too well the pull of Real Madrid and Barcelona, two of the best players I'll ever see play for us went to Real and its not hard to understand why
I don't know and not particularly bothered about Sterlings loyalty to City either way the point is, upcoming match with Real Madrid or not, he's being very complimentary to Real at a time many are speculating the rats could be jumping ship at City and I'm just playing along with that

Ah fair I forgot they were due to play them in truth. Makes more sense than it being plucked out of thin air.

Tbh I’m not sure it’s the quotes that people are mainly focusing on it’s more so the picture of him with a City shirt on one shoulder and a Real shirt on the other.
