So Barcelona sign Leganes' starting striker Martin Braithwaite after La Liga gave them special dispensation to do so. Now Leganes are without a recognised starting striker, and are requesting that La Liga give them special dispensation to sign a replacement. I'm sorry, what the fuck was the January transfer window even for? Haha La Liga have only gone and declined Leganes' request to sign a replacement striker. What a farce

In transfers that were supposed to happen 5 years ago Willian is supposedly joining us in the summer.

We're going to lose Vertonghen on a free because we only want to offer him a rolling 1 yr deal and he wants a longer contract. Another chapter of stupidity in what has been a rotten 12 months. For a clever man Levy can be as thick as a rhinos arse sometikmes, losing Vertonghen immediately means we have to sign two new players almost certainly without the boost of next seasons CL money (ha)
But we've got a documentary coming out on Amazon didn't you know guys and we're gonna be playing in the Amazon stadium real soon so its all fine, what happens on the pitch comes second these days dunnit, we'll probably just promote a 15 year old to replace Vertonghen
This fucking club. Can anyone elses club still piss them off after two months without playing a game

Can’t remember who it was who has said it recently but I do wonder if the pandemic is gonna end up in a reset for fees in the short term. Even the richest clubs are losing out at the minute and I can’t see fees of £50m being thrown around for just above average players for a while, at least while the sport tries to recover.

Jesus some of our fans’ heads have fallen off because Werner is signing for Chelsea. Mostly people who probably don’t go the game and don’t understand that with a global pandemic ongoing and an entire stand to redevelop money is going to be relatively tight for the next few years. We aren’t really in a position to be spending £54m on players just to strengthen the squad. It’s slightly disappointing, it would’ve been nice to have a different option than Origi to fill in for Firmino but I was never sure where Werner fit anyway as it would mean sacrificing either a midfielder or dropping one of the best front three in the world. Besides, I don’t know just how good he is. I’ve seen him play really well and barely be in other games, in a league where high press and offside traps are common he’s the perfect fit for the Bundesliga.

We're set to resign Marcus Edwards for €18m, a year after we let him go on a free after spending two or so years trying to leave us. It's not really €18m though because we're due to recieve 50% of the sell on fee

Interesting to see if Sane leaving is the beginning of an exodus or the beginning of another year or two of heavy spending from City. I know it’s been a move everyone’s known about for about two years but with their uncertainty at the minute it hits differently.
Anyone who says they won’t miss him is on crack though. He’s not the whole City system but he’s been so important to them over the last 2/3 years. Not a massive surprise they’ve fallen off this season without being able to use him for the 15 tap ins he gives Sterling every year. He also literally won them the league last year.

I know I’m in the minority but I still think a fit and on form Sane is a better player than Sterling. Bayern’s rebuild is going nicely especially if Lewandowski keeps refusing to age.

I remember that argument being on here. I don’t think calling Sane better is some insane shout but I do rate Sterling higher. I think Sane is electric but I also think Sterling is probably one of the best players in the league and it’s a weird sort of reverse thing going on in that English players are normally hyped to ridiculous levels but I think Sterling sort of suffers in terms of how people rate him. It’s a bit of a nonsense point because you can’t prove it but I think people like to hate him and he gets a bit underrated as a result
Like the City Liverpool game at Anfield is a good example. I was watching that game without any particular bias, and I thought Sterling was pretty much single-handedly dragging City back into it. He was also clearly playing on the edge and letting the Anfield crowd get under his skin, but in pure football terms he was the City player that was making things happen. But all coverage and fan reaction was about him bottling it?
Genuinely think he’s a generational talent for England and he didn’t have a great season overall this year, but would expect him to bounce back. This isn’t to take away from Sane who I think is great, just personally I think Sterling is a bit special.

I think if Thiago signs he'll be the first ever player that I can remember that was considered 'World Class' when signing them.

I mean considering Liverpool signed the most expensive goalkeeper and defender of all time you’d hope not
