Wrong about the numbers then, not wrong that he's number 2. Being pedantic he's nowhere near the greatest goal scorer regardless 600-565 Aye I'm not talking about Messi mate

I think I'm right in saying Madrid now won as many European cups as the entirety of English clubs?
Liverpool X 5 United X 3 Forest X 2 Chelsea Villa
Have I missed anyone?
Far and away the biggest club in the world.

Zidane just comes across as a winner. Amazing playing career and already has a managerial career as good as anyone around.

Managed the dressing room extremely well.
Scored in every single game this season, found a way to accomodate Ronaldo's aging legs, brought players into the first team who've performed well (Isco, Asensio).
Really don't see where they improve in the summer. I know Pepe is off so they'll be looking for a CB. De Gea really isnt needed but would probably be an improvement on Navas none the less.

Him and Kroos are the closest thing you'll see to peak Iniesta/Xavi for a while. Kroos also dominates internationally for Germany, so could end up with a similar trophy haul to Xavi at club and international level. The two are great but it's really the balance of Casemiro holding, a very simple move of Zidane's, that has made all the difference. Think that's what Zidane has done so well, he's not an innovator like Guardiola or will use extremely noticeable tactics like Mourinho. But he's got it right quite a few times now in big games with subtle changes, has really got the best out of his players. Was great at surveying the game when he played, seems to have brought that to management.

I don't know what his management style is like but on the pitch his Real team really reminds me of Rafa's Liverpool; which makes it funny you mentioned Casemiro, because Rafa took pelters for playing him when he was at Real. They play good, if not scintillating football. They're solid, try not to give too much away, great in midfield and can take the game away from you in moments. Mad to say it, but you wouldn't be surprised to see them do 3 in a row watching them last night.

Irks me a bit that Zidane gets the credit for Casemiro and Vasquez being important players when it was Rafa who gave them a chance.
Aside from that though he deserves a lot of credit for making it all look so easy. Uses his squad so well so someone like Ronaldo still scores 40 but doesn't have to play every game and it gives some of the younger players a chance.

Yeah Casemiro is the key to that midfield, in much the same way Busquets did a lot of the unsung work that allowed Xavi and Iniesta to thrive.

Zidane knows how important it is to have a water carrier in midfield seeing as he played with Maka

Zidane knows how important it is to have a water carrier in midfield seeing as he played with Maka I seem to remember Zidane being very vocal about how damaging it would be to Madrid when they sold Makelele.

Potentially Celtic v Linfield in Belfast on the 12th of July. Should be an easy draw for us but that could be a riot. Will probably be rescheduled, no chance they'll allow that game to be played in Belfast on the 11th or 12th
