Where are you flying into and how long are you staying? Just try to plan out what you wanna do as much as you can. It's fucking huge (surprise surprise) so a bit of prep will go a long way, means you won't waste any time wandering lost. Also everyone says to go up the Rockefellar building instead of the Empire State Building

Not sure where were flying into, haven't booked it yet but were definitely going. Was just messing around with dates on Expedia and it seems like it's gonna cost 600-700 for flight and hotel.
Going Monday-Friday unless there's a fight at the Barclay's Center or Madison Square Garden around that time then I'll change it to cover the weekend.
How much spending money do you reckon for 4 nights?

ChappyHova hard to know really New York is pricier but it's still the States so cheaper than home anyway plus the conversion from sterling to dollars should be pretty favourable for you. At least it is right now who knows come January but it shouldn't vary that much. I'd say $100 a day anyway minimum, maybe more because of paying into tourist attractions etc Reason I asked which airport is just Newark is a bit more awkward to get into Manhattan from than JFK or LaGuardia but not a nightmare or anythin

I was looking at Times Square but then read a lot of people saying that's a no no and Manhattan is a decent place to stay.

Definitely don't stay on Times Square, can't get any busier in the world. I'm working there, hate that place. Full of weird folks and you get no peace at all. If you have money then there are a few nice hotels around Central Park. At the end of 5th avenue seems to be nice but no idea of the prices.
New York is fairly expensive, a lot of tax and you have to tip more or less everywhere. Pound would be really good to the dollar though yeah.
Get a New York City pass for $80 for the day and you can see more or less everything.
Get a weekly subway card and you can get to most places. The city is very easy to get around because everything works by a grid - avenue and street. So go to 80th and 7th, you'll know that one way will bring you to 81st or 79th, the other will bring you to 6th or 8th etc.

Loro Parque is brilliant and the orca show is class. The seal and dolphin shows are must-watches too. Where are you staying?

Playa de las Américas, walking distance to Siam Park and gonna book a twin ticket that gives us transport over to Loro Parque.

Bit too touristy etc. Puerto De La Cruz is a good town to stay in (right next to Loro Parque too) but I'd imagine you're more keen on the the water park so staying in PDLA makes sense.

Siam Park is awesome, you'll love it, didn't got to Loro Parque so not sure what it's like, did hear good things though. In Siam Park they do a fast track for the rides, dunno how much it is but I probably wouldn't bother. You only get a fast track on each ride once and then that's it. We went in June and the queuing wasn't that bad for a busy time of year.
