Don't listen to him about Anne Frank, thought it was good myself Sex Museum is weird but that's Amsterdam so worth a visit, fairly cheap too. Heineken Museum's alright if you want to do nothing for an hour just to get a free beer at the end. And aye, red light is dodgy as but suppose you've got to go if you go to Amsterdam.

It was an ok museum, just wouldn't queue around the block for it as can sometimes be the case.
RLD during the day is a laugh, at night on the main streets it's fine, but there's some proper narrow alleys that get a bit sketchy, especially with blokes squeezing past you muttering "coke, coke?".
All the best lasses go to work at night too, during the day it's a bit rough ha.

Didn't go during the day, it's either walk on the main streets at night and avoid the homeless people handing out leaflets and the endless canals or as Dan says, take the narrow streets and be squeezed to death.
Found a great Irish bar one night but no idea what it was called, England were playing Brazil in a friendly and Paulinho & Rooney both scored belters. Think it was 2-2.

Oh and it's probably obvious but worth mentioning; don't take pictures of any girls in windows, and be careful taking pics at all in the RLD areas. As well as pickpockets a lot of the women carry protection (as well as condoms), or have people nearby who'll get involved.
It really is a very nice place though, as Mike said even at night the main areas feel quite safe.

Book your Anne Frank tickets online. Then you can go in through the front door while the divvies queue round the block.
Rld is a good laugh. Fri/sat got a bit busy but something you've got to see. If you're there fri/sat try going earlier. I've done both a city and country bike tour. Would definitely recommend the city one. It's a few hours showing you the sights and you stop off at a windmill for a few beers. Mike's bike tours I think they're called. I'd buy a 3/4 day tram pass too. Really handy. Otherwise you'll pay a fortune in single trips. If you're smoking do your research before you go on different cafés. They're everywhere, and all different so better to find somewhere you'll enjoy. Canal ride was decent. And I personally enjoyed the Heineken exp, (far better than the Guinness factory if you've been there) but know others didn't think much of it. I haven't been the Amsterdam arena but I know you can get a train right outside from centraal if you're interested. Think I've rambled on enough.

Started to make tracks through Spain now. Going down to Marbella to see a couple of mates at the end of the month which includes a trip to the Rosaleda to see Malaga play Rayo which I'm very excited about.
Then in May, and this is just a provisional thing at the moment, the same mates and I are looking at getting up to Barcelona for the Spanish GP (just the race day) and then a Barca match hopefully straight after.
I'll plan some other stuff between that but the majority of my travel is gonna be between here and the UK tbh. Back in March for Easter which will double as a week to go to the National again. Back at the end of January for the Super Bowl and a week at home and then there's Christmas and whatever other visits home I wanna make.

Did you mess up pulling your own pint?

notpropaganda haha I didn't pull my own pint. I'm not sure really. I think it may have been because the only brewery I had been to before was the Brugse Zot one in (obviously) Bruges and it was fantastic. Much, much smaller brewery, more personal tour and then just felt very underwhelmed at the Guinness factory. The zero gravity bar was boss though and my gf doesn't like Guinness so I got two pints. It's worth it for the bar alone, just didn't think much of the factory. I tell you what I did enjoy in Dublin though; the Kilmainham Gaol prison. I'd recommend that, very interesting place.

Ha course it's gonna be rubbish compared to an actual brewery tour. It's like Disneyland or something. Though my favourite part of the place is the bit where they have every Guinness ad ever made and you can watch any of them, it's class.
Also well done on not wasting your free pint on pouring it yourself. Bloody foreigners.
Kilmainham is pretty special. Awkward to get to though, unless you do the city tour.

I know that now! Still though, I found the Heineken Experience better, sorry - there was more to it. I'd probably enjoy the Guinness Factory more now I know what it's going to be like though tbf.
I said that to my gf haha she wanted to pour her own but I told her she wasn't wasting my second pint.
I'm on day 18 of not drinking and talking about this and a Guinness advert appearing on tv is tempting me.

Anyone ever been to a Barcelona game? What's the best way of getting tickets in advance before you go
