hahah, I'm not gonna go vegan for the animals you idiot, they'll still get slaughtered anyway. I'd be turning vegan for my own health. Well, they wouldn't be slaughtered if people stopped eating them. They wouldn't exist any more if people didn't eat them. 99% of the animals we eat are terribly equipped to survive without human input

You may be right, in which case that'd be fine - just like if an animal rapes or kills another animal, that's nature. There's nothing natural about mass slaughtering them at an unsustainable rate in factories which cover 45% of our earth's land In fact, surely if animals couldn't exist without us evolution would come into play and eventually they'd overcome that like they always have done?

I can tolerate vegans who aren't in your face about it but in my experience it is largely in their eyes a badge of honour and a title of self serving yuppish arseholery. Like the kind of morons who go to 'chill out yah' in the trendy juice bars drinking prune juice and sticking celery up each other's creases
I can also tolerate a meal without meat but only in the same way I tolerate my everyday life without a spaceship parked on the bed - an eventual feeling of emptiness and going without

We should all eat less meat as a whole, the quantity of meat we eat leads to battery farmed animals which are pumped full of shit (metaphorically)
If people want to be vegans, vegetarians, Pescatarians then most power to them - just don't be judgmental to those who do not chose your life choice.

My parents both went Vegan this year. Were already veggies. I'd like to try it, would have no problem giving up cheese milk and whatever just replacing meat would be hard which makes its way into most meals of mine.

If you knew how much the majority of them cared about animal life and how little of a shit they give about people's opinions of them then you'd change your opinion immediately. If you think someone would purposely eat (generally) worse tasting food and make such a big life choice as to remove all meat and dairy from their diet along with only buying products not tested on animals, no clothes made from cruelty to animals etc. *just* so they can say "I'm a vegan" then I would reconsider. This is a dumb response from someone who I thought a lot more of.

Mm. It's funny, when I went vegan briefly I had multiple people take the piss out of me in the office, my mates etc. despite me not pushing it in anyone's face. I put a picture of a vegan shop on my Facebook and that was it. "Faggot", "are you a man" etc. despite me still being physically larger stronger and more of an archetypal alpha male than them. I didn't once say "you're wrong for eating meat, you should all go vegan". So, I found out even if you're a non-judgemental vegan, you're still going to face criticism for having the gall to do summat different. A lot of meat eaters when faced with questions on their lifestyle have no answer and they get uncomfortable and spout shite like "we were born to eat meat, we've always done it, look at our tiny canine teeth" and instead rely on having a go at the vegan lifestyle than actually providing sound arguments back.

Last part is key. Looking at it from the perspective of a vegan (again - I'm not one), I would say it's hard to sit back in silence when people do things they deem wrong - it's not like religion where you're judging someone for fucking out of wedlock or fucking a fella up the arse, it's something real which impacts other sentient beings and our planet as a whole. They can see the destruction going on around them and want other people to join in. They see the rape and murder of an animal as bad as the rape and murder of humans. Look at Vegan Gains on YouTube - a psychopath/sociopath/all round aggressive bastard but he has made hundreds if not thousands of people into vegans via his videos and has exposed the retarded views of the fitness industry. He is a big part of why I gave it a go. Even the Hodgetwins have gone vegetarian for now, Mark Lobliner has been doing pescatarian and they've had tonnes of hate on YouTube for doing so. For literally not eating dead animals. Mental.

Yeah, when you've had meat as your foundation for your meals for years it's really hard to think of alternative dishes.. especially if you have goals for what you want your body to look like. Props to your parents. As an aside, if I could recommend a bit of learning material for this subject I'd advise ppl watch Earthlings, Cowspiracy and Forks over Knives for starters.

But coming at it from the holier than thou attitude, which a lot of vegans do, pushes people to go the other way in discrediting their beliefs, in most instances without even doing their own research into the discussion. I agree with you on most of the stuff you've put in here but you're not half coming across like Jehovah's Witnesses do when preaching about God and it's that sort of thing that brings about the discrediting response; no matter how thick somebody is, they don't take well to being spoken down to. Something the left have failed to understand when trying to deal with the UKIP surge.

I despise religion and their brainwashing techniques, if I could relinquish religion from this rock in space I would do so in an instant. The things I'm talking about are provable and are backed up by evidence, unlike their retarded nonsensical bullshit. I'm sorry if you think I'm talking down to people, that's not my intention at all.
