Is that last car a default npc or something? Looks proper generic
The blue and red one that is, not the mclaren. Which I like, but I'm concerned it's gonna look too dark again. Could never tell them apart from a few others last year cos the car just looked black

Manor, who have about 2 sponsors as they never get any screen time.
Yeah the Red Bull has a matte dark blue too that looks dark when running, not sure what the Toro Rosso livery will be either.
Horner reckons that Ecclestone is gonna table the idea of a reverse top 10 grid from qualifying to race to try and increase excitement ala touring car. Bloke's lost it, especially given he bemoans the current engines as turning people away from the sport because people think it's too technical.
Oh and he's trying to claim the sport is in a crisis because viewing figures have plummetted. Aye, they tend to do that when you move races onto paid subscription services.

Red Bull looks great on track from a visual point of view, will look even better at night races.
Love the Manor too, really simple and so hope they can get among the midfield this season. Would be a great story.

Load of analysis has been done on the testing now it's all finished, and although I still think Mercedes have been sand bagging a bit, it should make for an interesting season at least.
The Merc's are still in front, but it's thought Ferrari have cut the gap to about 0-2 to 0-5 seconds a lap. Basically, Vettel has a car that he can fight with. Behind them it's Williams who are a second off the Mercedes' but still the best of the rest at the moment. Red Bull, Force India and Toro Rosso are all closely matched, the latter is expected to beat the parent team at the start thanks to their Ferrari engine. Renault are also in that mix thanks to a hugely improved engine. At the back, Sauber, Haas, Manor and McLaren are all within half a second of each other, but about 2 seconds off the pace of the Mercedes. That's a massive improvement for Manor, and impressive for Haas walking into their first season.
Essentially, there's going to be closely matched cars all over the grid, although thinking about it that'll end up being a negative when similar paced cars can't pass each other due to the aerodynamics.

Genuinely feel like I'm the only person in the world who likes the new qualifying, don't see the problem with it.

I had a quick look at it and thought it looked abit convaulated and shit but didn't read into it properly. Won't it just come down to luck of where you are on the track and stuff because the time increments are shorter than it takes to complete a lap?

Won't it just come down to luck of where you are on the track and stuff because the time increments are shorter than it takes to complete a lap? Pretty much. We'll see how it works in Oz but I don't see it as a negative. People are getting lost and thinking it's aimed at improving QF but it's really aimed at improving the race in the hope the grid will be a bit more mixed. Personally, I think the issue is the elimination part starts too late. I.e. The first session is 16 minutes, with the elimination starting after 7. By then, most drivers will have been out and a standard order will have been set. If they cut the session to 11 minutes and started elimination after 2 minutes, no grid order would have been set and elimination would pretty much start from scratch, meaning if Hamilton or someone got blocked or made a mistake on their first lap, they'd be out.

Like F1 in general, I always give everything my full support for the Australian GP and then if it looks shit, I'll just not watch qualifying any more - and if the race is shit, I'll just barely watch F1 again like I did last season.

Di Resta in as Williams reserve driver, glad to see as I thought him not getting a drive in 2014 was a mild travesty

Formula 1 is falling apart at the seams.
The drivers, led by Button and Vettel, have put out a strongly worded statement lamenting the direction the sport is going in with random, ill-thought out changes being pushed through. Ecclestone isn't named but a lot of the complaints go back to him.
Meanwhile, Sky have announced that from 2019 they'll be the only UK channel to be showing F1. Channel 4 have been royally screwed over here having paid a premium to get BBC out of their highlights deal in the hope they could expand their sports offerings with the Paralympics coverage. Going to pay-tv-only means a massive decline in viewing figures, and a massive decline in sponsorship money for the teams as a result.
Basically, Ecclestone is a moron.

Alonso out of the Bahrain GP, failed the FIA medical two weeks on from his massive crash in Aus.
Wonder what it is that they've stopped him for because you'd assume most of the minor issues (scrapes, cuts and bruises) would have cleared up since then

Wonder what it is that they've stopped him for because you'd assume most of the minor issues (scrapes, cuts and bruises) would have cleared up since then Think they said he had cracked ribs and damage to his lungs which had cleared up but another crash this weekend could apparently collapse his lungs, so no chance they'd take a risk.
