He's excellent but I don't think he's been good in any of the games against us either, including last season. But Spurs and Liverpool both play in ways that are difficult for any holding midfielder to cope with.

Kante being on more TOTY over the years than Vieira won't automatically make him a better player. Vieira is one of the greatest of all time in his position, over a number of years. TOTY isn't the be all and end all to someones ability. Kante has been incredible for a couple of seasons, but he has a long, long way to go to be considered in the same category as Vieira, let alone better. I agree, I wasn't saything that being in TOTYs would get Kante there. Was just cheap-plugging my project As I said, I think he has potential to have a decent shot of getting there but he's a long way away yet. Plus peak Vieira was more of a complete midfielder than Kante perhaps has the ability to ever attain that, at least at this point, agree with Mycon though, in terms of high-end PL performances, he might already up there with Makelele, though Makelele did it over a longer period. If Kante can have another 5 years winning trophies and being one of the best in the league though he might start to be considered in Vieira territory.
