Apparently if you took away the swimming GB would be tied with the Americans for gold medals. Madness.

Yoka connected with better shots, especially in the first two rounds. Joyce was just throwing as many punches as he could, with little quality.
Yoka was calm, composed and handling most of what came at him, Joyce was flailing most of the time and taking the strongest shots, mostly to the face.

Agree that Joyce was throwing more and was less composed but didn't see Yoka land more than a handful of punches at best and definitely not to win all three rounds on at least one scorecard. Steve cram is class on commentary Even by BBC standards, very biased though. Steve Cram commentating on a British athlete is like Clive Tyldesley commentating on a United game. Enhances it it if you support them, can be obnoxious if you don't. 'Bow to his superiority was a bit cringey' I mean he's as exaggerated with the likes of Bolt as he is with Farah, he doesn't go over the top with an athlete just because they're British, he does it because of their achievements. Although I find him a bit cringeworthy at times in truth, can tell which of his lines are pre-prepared and which are natural, his commentary on Farah in London and Bolt breaking the 200m wr in Beijing and winning the 100m last year stick out.

Absolutely loved the Mario bit in Japan's section of the ceremony.
Then thought about what character we'd have if that was us.
Then realised it'd be Theresa May as Lara Croft.
Then went and bathed my head in bleach.

Ridiculous amount of empty seats at the opening ceremony for the Paralympics, yet it'll probably be the best attended event over the next 10 days.

Impressive to be able to run a 100m that quickly when basically tied by the arm to a guide runner but I'm certain Libby Clegg only won that one because her guide runner dragged her along for most of it.

Also, the mens high jump is incredible here. Bloke with one leg just cleared 1.71m, that's 5 foot 6. He ran straight in and front flipped over it. Brazillian guy just came in next and hopped his way over in a Fosbury flop.
Actually unreal.
