You're thinking more about this than I am Stu.
No one's assed about the league cup that's why we played a bunch of kids last night.

Great performance but I'd rather it was the game at the weekend rather than the League Cup. Mourinho going all out for it and Europa it seems to possible detriment in the league.
Mkhitaryan finally given the chance to show he's actually very good, Martial back in the goals and Rooney much improved.

Can't be bothered with this game tonight. I think once you're in the semi finals, maybe the quarters, you usually wanna win the League Cup. It feels different this time though. The way it's fell this year we are in a title race and the biggest games of our season (so far) are around the League Cup, not the League Cup itself. We've got Man United away on Sunday and Chelsea at home shortly after the second leg. We can't afford to lose either and probably have to beat Chelsea (especially if we don't beat United) if we want to be in the race come February. For that reason, I'd be looking at a mixed team for both Southampton games and weaker teams again for Plymouth and hopefully Wolves if we get through.
And tbh, it probably sounds spoiled/ungrateful/whatever but I cba going to Wembley next month just to get beat 1-0 by United.

It's the only cup you're acutally likely to win this season though.

And you'd have had one less match this month if you didn't piss about in the FA Cup

We aren't likely to win anything. But I'd rather have a go at the league than the league cup.

lets hope klopp sees it the same way otherwise we're fucked Unfortunately not. I'm sure I'll be miles out on personnel but he'll go strong. Something like: Karius, Clyne, Lovren, Klavan, Milner; Can, Lallana, Wijnaldum; Firmino, Origi, Sturridge. Suppose we haven't got too many solid options once they're written down, but I'd probably go Moreno & Ejaria again and look to get Ojo, Stewart & Coutinho some game time.
