Worse than fucking normal all year round television.
Enjoy a week of Shrek, Harry Potter, Roger Moore James Bond movies... and don't forget those inevitable Christmas specials of low-brow comedy like Mrs Brown's Boys and Miranda!... with some random episode of My Family being before that!

Christmas is the only time I watch the above soaps, Christmas Day episodes are dramatic as fuark
Don't mind the Christmas specials either but as the shows get worse (Miranda) then unfortunately the Christmas Tv season is going to become absolutely dire.
I love shrek.

T.V is more and more irrelevant in my life anyway, now that the internet exists. Don't even have one in our living room anymore.

Royle family Christmas special? Only fools and horses Christmas special(s)? What about the muppets movies that are always on? Christmas tv is amazing.

Only good thing about Xmas TV this year is the pre-equal to Sherlock series 3. There is a mini episode of Sherlock on Christmas day!

I don't understand why BBC just don't show Sherlock Series 3 over the Christmas period and blow every other channel away in the ratings... Especially since Ripper Street Series 2 has now finished (a very good TV show if you haven't seen it yet, sadly cancelled because it went up against that jungle tripe and Series 2 had a job to live up to the quality of Series 1).

C4's doing an "I.T Crowd Night" on Christmas Eve.
They're doing the last ever episode, a documentary/behind-the-scenes episode and then the fans' best episode followed by the writer's best episode.
I've gone ahead and voted for the Countdown episode because that was funny as hell.

You don't see any new shows being aired over the Christmas period though, because it's all about festivity. The reasoning for waiting until after the new year is that people's attention is back to normal life, so they can hit them straight on their return to normal television. They won't want it crossing over from one year to another either due to awards usually being within the calendar year etc. JMThe countdown episode was great.. The advert for it was class too. "I came here to drink milk and kick ass.... and I've just finished my milk"

I'd have thought the way the economy is now that people would be staying in more, but I guess shit-hot TV in the new year softens the blow of returning to work, school etc
