I'm pretty stoned and got thinking but my friends have just gone home and I need to explain this thinking to someone that isn't facebook because my mum's on there lol
So I was thinking about how many people we 'sort of know' through facebook/twitter/social media, like that guy from your town or the town over that you're friends with or follow and if someone asks about him/her then you sorta go 'aye I know him', but you don't really know them on a personal level. Isn't it kind of messed up how one of those people could be potentially our best friend or 'soul mate', you just never had the chance to meet them? Like think of your best mate and how you got to know him/her, say it was through school. What if they hadn't gone to that school? What if they went to the one on the other end of town? The person you are closest to in the world and have the best time with, you may never have met them due to this purely coincidental issue that is out of your hands. On an even deeper level, it could be your soul mate/future wife that you are soooooo suited to and destined to be with but you never meet them because of something so freakish as they were ill and didn't go to the pub the night you were going, or they stopped to tie their shoe lace so they weren't in the same aisle in Tesco as you were or something along those lines.
So what I'm saying is isn't it really fucked up how the person you are best friends with and are so suited towards could just be 'a guy I know' from twitter because of a small variable? And how different things could/would be if you hadn't met that person? What if the girl who was perfect to be your future wife is in the smoking area of a club but you ask the guy next to her for a lighter instead of her and you never meet again?
Similarly, think of how many people out there you should be best mates with but you never had the chance to meet. I'm talking guys in the same town, who work in the shop next to yours or go to a different campus at Uni. Or hell, the guy who lives in Canada who you would be best mates with or would be your wife but you'll never find a way to meet each other?
pretty fucked up is all I'm saying
