Chelsea for as long as I can remember haven't been suited to a high scoring striker though. Remember us having this discussion about them buying a striker, think it was mike who was adamant they should buy Costa. But quite frankly if I were him, or any top striker tbh, Chelsea would be quite literally the last 'big' club I'd move to in terms of footballing interests. the fact they could pay me whatever I want would probably balance that out though.

Malouda was class for a couple of seasons tbf.
edit: also Diego Costa is so, so much more than just a goalscorer. I'm a little biased towards him now but he'd be fantastic for Chelsea imo, can lead the line, score goals, is quick, and works very hard (he winds defenders up by not giving them a moment's rest as much as his other antics). With Mourinho's 'us vs everyone' attitude managing him I think he'd be superb. Rather him than Cavani, would probably prefer Lewandowski if I was a Chelsea fan though.

Costa would be perfect. One of the reasons I was so baffled that Chelsea wanted Falcao is that, if you're not supplying him, he's doing fuck all. Like Soldado really. Costa can use his size to create chances for himself, something which I suppose Drogba did.
Drogba's poor goalscoring is also something which grates me when Chelsea fans criticise Torres. Drogba scored 5 league goals, twice. He scored eight one year and 10 in another. One of the reasons Torres is so often called a flop is that he doesn't score in the league, but he got 8 last year. Not amazing but not terrible compared to what he did more often than not. And it's not like all Torres does is score, his all round play can be very good when he's feeling it.

Torres' all round play is excellent, so was drogbas . as you say though neither of them have scored barrel loads each season. why would Costa be any different? he'd be a great signing, he'd add so much to their team. but would he get 25 a season which is what Chelsea fans seem to want? he's good, he's really good... but there's no guarantee for me

He's more aggressive than the other two. Drogba used his size well, Costa uses his brilliantly. The only fault I see for ANY striker at Chelsea is that no matter how good you are, you can't stop their midfield from being a bunch of greedy cunts.

To be honest I don't think you particularly want to limit their midfield being greedy. Costa knows how to sacrifice himself for the team, did it brilliantly for Falcao.

Soldado is a slightly receding Francis Jeffers

Relatively surprised our game hasn't been called off, it's difficult enough as it is to get to the Emirates for a midweek game on a good day, let alone when there's no tube services operating. Sure they did it last season or the season before.
Would benefit us hugely too, odd one.

Not to compare him to Falcao as I haven't seen enough or any of him really, but to suggest Soldado offers fuck all is just ignorant. Hell, it's why he remained in the team ahead of Defoe for 3 months at the start of the season. General movement has also improved now he's used alongside Ade too- rather than just getting involved in the final third he'll go out to the wings and get the ball now etc etc.

Falcao to me is just another one of those players that people seem to love pretending is better than he is.

Nah. Haven't seen him play a minute at Monaco but for the last 2 seasons at Atletico he was probably the best finisher in the world. Big game player as well.

Bollocks. Even on a down half-season at Monaco he's scoring over 1 in 2.
