the atmosphere was so negative last night, never seen anything like it before Been like this all season whenever I've gone. Nothing's quite come close to our 1-0 home loss to Wigan last year (or even year before that?) but you get the impression that nobody there's enjoying themselves in the slightest.

ha yeah I was at the Wigan 0-1 last season as well (clearly a bad omen)
that was just disappointment at an uncharacteristic slip up though
seemed a lot deeper than that last night

he got the team terribly wrong yesterday imo if Soldado is fit then there's no reason for Kane to start ahead of him, Kane put in a good shift but he's not good enough for this level yet Paulinho and Sandro together in the middle offers absolutely nothing was Rose injured? or just coming back? either way, Naughton is not good enough Ade was useless as well, should've buried that chance he had, he seems to only score under pressure Agreed on Soldado. Kane worked hard but the occasion is too big for him. Sandro and Paulinho does not work tbf. You've got Sandro as the anchor breaking up play, with Paulinho, who is effectively a poor man's in-his-prime Lampard. But he can't create anything or recycle possession. We have a defensive midfielder and an attacking midfielder. Other option is Dembele, but he can't pass either. This is where we miss Modric the most. If Holtby was more disciplined positionally, he'd be there without doubt. Rose has been injured.

It's not getting any better for you lot this season, atmosphere sounds poisonous (which Sherwood is also accountable for imo). Don't see how they can stick with Sherwood in the summer either, that job is crying out for an experienced manager. Van Gaal's career has always followed the quick fix path iirc, normally ending in tears, but Spurs need someone to come in and turn things around immediately which I think he could do.

paulinho has been woeful lately and has offered absolutely nothing both offensively and defensively, runs around like a headless chicken and is never ever in midfield to pick the ball up, disappears far too often in big games, just reminds me of jenas basically
probably down to that injury

He's clever and makes some great late runs into the box (was very wasteful early on in the season) and should score goals. He's got 7 this season already and he's yet to look much like his potential. Need to find a way to get the best out of him and Eriksen. Ade/Soldado Eriksen - Paulinho - Lamela Sandro - Dembele Sounds quite good in theory. We'll have two natural fullbacks who can get forward when their wingers cut in too.

Weren't you all crying about not playing wingers on their preferred foot sides? AVB's main flaw apparently.

yeah but then they tried putting them on the side of their preferred foot, and got even shitter. then they tried the good old English 442, and got even shitter...
could be wrong but haven't spurs tried just about every possible combination with their midfield by this point?

they haven't until big tim brings in more players he's worked with and produces a midfield of McEvoy, Bentaleb, Pritchard and whoever else.

fwiw my dad was saying that the atmosphere on thursday in the north stand and east stand towards the north was or at least might have probably been down to the fact that in the corner of the north stand upper there were about 30 benfica fans that had some how got a set of tickets (must have been from the club) & were making noise the whole game but no police anywhere upstairs or downstairs to get them out of the ground, which put everyone on edge the entire game.

Bought from StubHub most likely.

yeah there was, was quite close to them
were getting ridiculous levels of abuse, got about 30 stewards to cordon them off from us
celebrated wildly for all 3 goals, was fucking depressing, didn't even anger me
I swear for the whole game I was just fucking depressed haha that's not the way to go through a match

Almost an entire first team's worth of players hasn't even travelled
x Walker Kaboul Chiriches Vertonghen Paulinho Dembele Lamela x x Adebayor
reckon our injury list could beat our starting lineup there.
