In flashes, and never for a full 90 minutes bar perhaps Newcastle. Gave us a 2 because I reckon we've totalled about 180 minutes of football approaching what this squad should be capable of.
I'm gonna put my neck out here and say that Vertonghen and Lloris have suffered massively without AVB and the system he played and without them at their best we wouldn't have stood a chance even if Soldado and Lamela were turning in 20 goal seasons apiece

I think Eriksen was cheap because he was in his final year at Ajax, I know he almost went to Liverpool but I'm surprised no one bigger went for h I try hard to like Paulinho and he is a grafter but I don't know what he offers that we weren't already offered though through Dembele? We spent too much on the squad we should've gone all out for a top player, even a merecenary who would've joined for £250k a week and would've stayed for 2 seasons only but who would've been worth an extra 7-10 pts a season (obv easier said than done but still this wasn't even a consideration) Yeah think that's the essence of a lot of Spurs' problems, so many ok players but hardly any outstanding players. The spine is quite weak, hard to know who your midfield and attacking dominant players are. Suppose Adebayor is under Sherwood. Compare that to say City where you've got Hart, Kompany, Toure, Aguero spine. Spurs don't really have that. Another problem at Spurs I think is their lack of continuity, lots of chopping and changing too often. Spurs bought 7 players, got rid of too many to mention last summer. The summer beforehand they bought 8 players and let 14 players go. That summer you let some of your 'spine' go in Modric and Van der Vaart. Managers have come and gone too. Hard to set up a plan with that.

1st half of Chelsea, Stoke at home, Newcastle away
I'll round that down to 2 just because I am still in shock at how dire we were today
also Paulinho needs to leave, he will never fit in our team ever ever
he is consistently unbelievably good for Brazil, like, he's just a completely different player here and he seems uninterested now

I actually think spurs need to stick with their players if at all possible. A summer with very few changes would probably do them a world of good as they brought in a lot of undoubtedly talented players over the past couple of seasons. If they can keep Lloris, vertonghen, Sandro, Eriksen, lamela and either Adebayor or soldado I think they've got a potentially very good spine. They showed at the beginning of the season how solid defensively they can be, since then they've been unable to play their first choice back line in consecutive matches. And whilst Soldado was given a more that fair chance to shine up top , he's been 'assisted' by an ever changing midfield and Toe-it Townsend. Too many new players, two very different managers and a lot of injuries have really fucked spurs season (even though they aren't actually doing too bad in the league)

Spurs continue to amaze me. I don't think I've seen a team be honestly so meh and be in this league position. Compared to Southampton or Everton who played very good at times yet are behind Spurs who are just like...a bowl of Rice Krispies. Not bad but never ever exciting or overly enjoyable. Lacking the sweet attacking play of us who are like Frosties, Coco-Popsy Arsenal who it's hard to get enough of with their play and porridge Chelsea who don't do an awful lot to excite you but you appreciate they are good at what they do.
Both Newcastle games they were good (krul was epic in the first one), didn't see them vs Stoke I'll give them benefit of the doubt, both first halves against Chelsea they were solid but not really good, Cardiff I think it was they had a lot of possession but almost zilch end product. I'll give them a 3.

Haven't watched Spurs a huge amount but every time I have (I think 4 times in total) they've been god awful.
They do kinda defy belief, like how are they ahead of Everton who (I think most would agree) have had a much better season. I guess it's to do with expectations as well. I know Everton fans were really uneasy with some summer signings, compared to Spurs fans (and most neutrals) thinking they had brought in some quality.
Tbh I don't think most of Spurs' signings were quality but I genuinely thought Soldado would be a gamechanger for them.

Tbfh they played a motherfucking huge game of risk, and shit did not work out for them. They were going to lose Bale no matter what, so they got put into a rough corner. Losing somebody of that level will always hit a team, but when you account for the matches they won last season due to his goals then it was always going to be difficult. The buys they made on paper were decent, and should've kept them at a high level. Only thing is, as we've seen many times, you never know how a player will adapt to the Prem. Just very bizarrely it's only been two of them (Eriksen & Paulinho) who have slotted in with no real problems. Soldado I thought would do a lot better, but as a Chelsea fan strikers flopping doesn't seem that farfetched any more.
They got bit at the end of the day. Right now they could be part of the top four melee with a lot of promising young talent ready to mount a title charge in the near future, but shit just did not work out.

think capoue is good, you've been absolutely fucked without either him or sandro whenever I've watched .
Soldado appears to have gained everything he lacked, but lost everything that made him so good...

Poor season all round which will be topped off by an awful summer in which the only top class players we have will more than likely be sold. I can see Vertonghen in his lovely new Man United shirt already.
Soldado has been the most frustrating signing. He seems to be able to play the ball around well but he's completely forgotten what makes him a good player. However, as I've said, like Pav, he doesnt fit the system at all. Eriksen shows great promise, the team should be built around him. The rest of the signings have either been sort of alright or we havent seen enough.
Michael Dawson needs to be taken somewhere quiet and shot. Several times. In the genitals. And one in the left foot for good measure. How that massive mong is ever present with the captains armband is beyond me. Utter shitehouse that lad. QPR and Stoke were prepared to pay £10m for him 18 months ago, they probably wouldnt sign him on a free now.
Ideal summer signing: A big batch of stem cells and a syringe. Stick it into Ledley's knees and pray.

I put 0 on the poll, just to uneven things up seeing as I've never watched them play this year.
FUCK THE SYSTEM.

The only times I've been able to put up with a full 90 with them was against United. Couldn't even be arsed watching the full Liverpool match, fucked off to go and pick my brother up from work at 2-0 and when I came back it was 4-0.
I don't know if it's because of our success this season that's making me enjoy Spurs' fall this season or if it's just my general dislike of them is finally starting to pay off, but I'm enjoying it nonetheless.
