Going back a bit to last nights/this mornings conversation, but you can make several very solid arguments for Wenger being better than Ferguson. However, you can make many, many more for Ferguson being better than Wenger. The crux is they're two of the greatest managers the league has ever seen and both will go down in the record books for their achievements. Just for shits, what arguments could you make for Wenger being better that Ferguson? Off the top of my head I can only think of the topics: transfer budgeting and visual football style. I'd argue he has a better transfer record. Better at unearthing young talent too. Obviously solid arguments can be made for Ferguson in both scenarios but I'd say he has more failures than Arsene has, and apart from the team of 92 Ferguson didn't bring through too many top young players. Consistency during turbulant period (something Ferguson hasn't really had much of a chance to do).

I'd say Wenger's main achievement over Ferguson is the groundwork for diet, fitness etc and also playing style. Arsenal have been a good team to watch for years whereas attacking Man United rarely showed up when it mattered for the last 5-6 years of Fergie's reign. Maybe that's a good thing manager-wise though. Fergie was able to change it up whereas Wenger always plays the same way.

Wenger seems more hands-on than Fergie in regards to coaching. Fergie delegated that, tactics and whatnot out to his coaching staff. It's no surprise that our attractive attacking style left when Queiroz left the second time in 2008.
