In honour of the greatest horse racing spectacle (which takes place in the greatest city in the world tyvm) this weekend, let's have some horse related shit.
It's looking increasingly likely to be a photo finish with only six furlongs left of the race. Liverpool are the front-runners with Manchester City just a couple of lengths behind but with the extra boost of having run fewer races this year, so they'll be feeling fresh.
Chelsea, trained by J.M. Mourinho, ridden by John Terry (bantz) has lost ground recently but his form this year has been excellent so I fully expect that to continue. Plucky Arsenal came out of the gates incredibly strongly but his inexperience in this position and lack of stamina means he's dropped into the periphery. Remember, Barclays are paying out for the first 4 places.
As we get towards the midfield Tottenham and Everton are still raring away. If you placed an E/W on Everton in this race you just might be in luck, he's looking fast and is taking the hurdles in his stride.
Last year's winner Manchester United is starting to feel his age as he cements his place in the midfield. He's got to be wary of Southampton, a few lengths behind but still trying to put himself ahead of United.
As we get further back in the order, Fulham is the backmarker, lagging behind everyone pretty much since the beginning of the race. It's going to take a miracle for him to survive the embarrassment of finishing last. He's joined by Cardiff and Sunderland, two lower class horses who can always come up trumps against the big boys. The lower midfield and the back markers are all very close together, so gaining momentum during this next stretch of the race will be vital for everyone involved.
I feel disgusted with myself.
City v Southampton - 12:45
Villa v Fulham - 15:00
Cardiff v Palace - 15:00
Hull v Swansea - 15:00
