The manager and captain are allowed 3 challenges in the game. Can't decide if I'd prefer to think you mean challenges like in Cricket, or if you actually want to see big sam crunch someone as they go past the dugout. Either way +1 from me Let players jump in the crowd Goalkeepers can be challenged at corners rather than this whole 'can't go anywhere near em BS' Can't decide if I'd prefer to think you mean challenges like in Cricket, or if you actually want to see big sam crunch someone as they go past the dugout. "That's two challenges left for Big Sam today!" I'd expect it to end something like this...

Haha, I love that.
Allardyce breaking someone up reminds me of when an old (overweight) manager of mine trained with us one time and absolutely smashed one of our players. One of the funniest things I've ever seen. Never seen a fat man so agile before.

If you're keeper gets injured after you've made 3 subs you get a 4th sub. The manager and captain are allowed 3 challenges in the game. Had this in MLS many years ago, and this happened. Not a bad idea in theory, but the rule was scrapped after that incident because he supposedly cheated his way into another field player when one of his players had been injured.

Another thing I'd bring in would be automated systems for offsides similar to the goal line technology where a hooter can just go off if an offside is detected or whatever but that would be so hard to implement I would definitely get video reviewing set up for those situations. Can't see how it delay the game and ruin it too badly if a little tent is pitch side for the ref or his mate to nip into to check if there was a blatant elbow, offside, handball in a goal scoring phase of play.

Added time multi-ball.
Retrospective punishment for players that fake being hurt to get another player booked.

I think if you dive inside the box, you should be given a straight red card. Only thought about that after seeing Hernandez's dive for Utd at the weekend.

Retrospective suspensions for dives would be good too after reviewing video footage.
A mate of mine always says to me that they should make it illegal for defenders to just use their weight to shepherd the ball out of play for a goal kick without touching it. I don't really agree with him, but sometimes it is a bit ridiculous when a defender makes continuous contact with the striker for 10 yards without actually playing the ball. 9 times out of 10 we know it's going to go out for a goal kick. It would probably be more interesting if the defender couldn't do that, and had to actually play the ball. We might see more goals.

What if the ref mistakes a genuine pen for a dive? Would be unfair on the player. I'd rather see the ref do nothing at all and have it reviewed by the FA after the match. Anyone found guilty of diving gets banned for a game or two. Repeat offenders get more.

Sometimes players just fall over in the box as well, tripping over the ball, tripping over their own feet - would be a shame to see them get a red card for it!
Retrospective suspensions are the way to go. Stiff suspensions too, 1 game might be worth it if the penalty was given and you won the game. But 6 games, maybe not...

Although it's rare you see a booking when the ref thinks a player has dived and he hasn't, it'd be so harsh to be sent off when you haven't cheated. Referees and the FA definitely need to be more strict on divers though; particularly repeated offenders. If they get away with it they won't stop.

Totally agree with your mate, and I was a defender when I wasn't a fat bastard. In general shepherding the ball out and using your strength is a good attribute but like you said sometimes it's bloody ridiculous seeing a defender just back into a striker for 10 yards.

This one isn't so much a rule as football etiquette but I'd like to see all bounce ups contested like they were back in the day. The game is about competing and the ball is there to be won IMO
