I know in my experience, I'm wary of making vanilla roles because when you give someone who's not massively active a vanilla role they just don't post at all cos they're bored. It's really annoying and ruins the game for everyone then, so I always try and give every role SOMETHING to post for. Not neccesarily a strong ability, but something. Like Mace Tyrell in GoT 1, completely useless as it was random results, but still something to send in. Same with wavery in Cos' game I think too.

I get what you're saying but being vanilla should be quite liberating. If you don't have an ability that's important to town there's no reason you can't ruffle some feathers. I think you're always going to have players that are less active than others.

Yeah don't think the issue is the same players playing it, just how we play it and yeah there are things maybe we can do as mods that will help. Like I agree with Bollo, next game I run town are not getting so many power roles

Yeah I don't think I'm going to play anytime again soon. Like first day phase me and mafia couldn't have played it any better yet we still got no chance lol. Superman, mason etc batman dead etc etc but I get picked on just cos it's me (#paranoid) and it's game over already

The level of power roles for town is a problem I think. For instance in the current one, you've got a mason with abilities. Now obviously with a superhero game the idea of people not having abilities is stupid, but from what I see a mason's advantage should just be the fact they're a mason, nigh on unlynchable and the only town who can talk outside the thread. If you add in two pretty powerful abilities you get what we saw night one, mafia killed by mafia and cult instantly dead in the water. Maybe write ups could be a bit less detailed or something, I dunno. Just feels like we've had a mafia death before day 2 begins the last like 5 games.

It doesn't help that we've played too many consecutive games with the same people. I can see what people mean but there's no reason why people can't mix up their playing style. I've seen both Kesh and kuhn do it for different reasons. ?

You acted purposefully scummy in the last game to avoid being targeted which was different to previous games. The reason I thought you were Mafia this time was that you seemed too comfortable being very pro town. But in other games you've mixed it up and lasted ages lol Nah I fully agree Yeah I don't think I'm going to play anytime again soon. It was an unfortunate bus drive. And let's not forget that it goes both ways. Mafia seem to always go for the same players regardless of information being given in the thread. You said yourself all those roles found out D1 yet who did Mafia target? Non of them. The reason it was such a good d1 for Mafia was you could have neutralised the mason straight away, or got rid of the 3 voter. But you guys decided not to. It was a really good day phase followed by odd decision making, you used two night phases leaving those three confirmed players in the game. As numbers dwindle Mafia should want as few confirmed players in the game imo. Plus the indies got unlucky this game which has effected how easy it is for town. My toughts at the moment are: role claiming seems to have no consequences leathal protectors are OP masons with strong abilities are OP town roles in general are too strong on average. also so far a lot of our games have very defined good and bad characters. I think one of the reasons the GoT Mafia was so well liked was the fact scummy looking characters were town and vice versa. It was much harder to define role. I'm personally looking forward to daveyposhboy history game for this very reason.

When you're mafia everyone is confirmed town so it's just weighing up who's the best option. And Superman was likely to be protected being the strongest. Yeah I didn't mind the death in this game lol, it's just the I'm never town until I'm dead and it shows, gets a bit tiresome
