I had you pegged as mafia D1 tbf, as this game shows though it's just persuading other people you're right. See you say that but all you ever said was once that I was suspicious. Hardly pegged as mafia

Bennehs game plan is throw shit at everyone and then claim he's the MVP when something sticks.

I think this just highlights the need for a break. Getting annoyed (in b4 im not annoyed) at benneh for asking questions is just silly.
Are people up for an awards ceremony? Does anyone mind benneh and I hosting? If so would people want shortlist to choose from, or a free for all?

So write-ups.
Write-ups are a huge problem for scum. Like, an unfair, powerful advantage to town in practically every game. And it's not always the moderator's fault; sometimes it's just hard to do them properly because you can't blatantly lie but then that leads to really really obvious things.
I just played in probably the hardest scum game I've ever been in, solely difficult because of the write-ups (we were underpowered to begin with but that's not important right now). local was in that game, and I'm sure he could also tell you how unfairly fucking descriptive the write-ups were. there was no vagueness, no room for ambiguity... very very obvious statements and actions that people could EASILY peg to characters and, once players claimed, players.
And that's just absolutely unfair. We ended up winning in the end [because im so fucking good] but for the most part we played really well the whole game and it really shouldn't have come down to 2 vs. 4 in the last day phase where we mislynched and won. Like, the win should've been easier than that, but due to write-ups hindering what we could do/say/claim, it was unnecessarily difficult.
Examples: - I was Julius Caesar, a roleblocker. I was shown, ON NIGHT 1, kidnapping a player and bringing them to a coliseum. I was doing similar things for the rest of the night phases so if I expected to last late-game there would be no chance of me fake claiming due to the write-up clearly showing that I was still doing my thing. So I was forced to claim Julius Caesar, convince people he was good, and that my ability was good as well, which was far from easy to do the whole game - We had a one-time recruit. Our strongest ability... and the write-up made it blatantly obvious that we targeted a specific player and that they were recruited (they "felt different"). that player was almost immediately daykilled and our strongest ability was put to a huge fucking waste because of the write-up - Our silencer silenced by giving out poisonous drinks. he was roleblocked and it was shown that he couldn't give somebody the drink that he was holding. ...guess what happened! - at various points throughout the game town claims were proven because it was so obvious that they were doing what they claimed to be doing in the write-up, which meant that a) we couldn't claim those portions and b) people were being cleared left and right in ways that shouldn't have happened
Now THAT game is a game where I'd blame the moderator more because the write-ups were way too obvious. However, I've seen a lot of that same play over here, where it's just "claim, find yourself in the write-up, okay you're cleared, next" and then scum is left not knowing what to do because there's nothing they CAN do. I get that people want their themes to be great and they want to write awesome write-ups and such, but it needs to be done in a non-incriminating way, and a way that doesn't impact the game so damn heavily. I have a few examples from Neo that I'll gladly link to ("found footage" write-ups, really descriptive write-ups to the point where you're not sure what's an action and what's just flavor...) to give some of you ideas for how to do your write-ups assuming you want them in your game. But if you feel you can't do them properly, seriously, avoid them completely. Don't make a game with abilities that are unfair without write-ups, because that's even worse, but just make a nice, balanced, write-up-free game where both sides have an equal chance. It says a lot when scum has, what, one win, and that's only due to inactivity? It should be more around 50/50, not "oh wow scum actually managed to win!"
As for game balance/abilities... I'll talk on that stuff later.
