Thread from 25th July by an EU Law professor seems to have been pretty bang on so far.

Here's how I think it's going to go:
No deal is agreed between the EU and UK, so Boris has to ask for an extension.
Boris has lined up one or more EU nations to veto this extension, most likely Hungary.
Westminster opposition parties vote to take control of a days business.
Opposition parties table a motion to revoke Art50 while a deal is negotiated.
This is where it can go either way. Either they win and Art50 is revoked and Boris storms the GE - allowing him to get back to parliament with a majority and steamrolls through a no-deal (and giving him 5 years free reign to legislate on belhalf of his bankrollers)
Or they lose that vote, UK leaves with no deal. SNP announce indyref2 for 2020 which could go either way. The UK GE is fought on other matters, probably with Boris still winning.

Saw it mentioned that a veto from an EU country, however aligned it may be with the current Conservative party, is really unlikely purely from a leverage point of view.
Say if Hungary vetoed, its relations with Germany would be wrecked for the foreseeable future. In addition, its own citizens will see some negative impacts from No Deal (obviously nowhere near as big as the UK but not insignificant) for which it could be punished at the ballot box.
It will still have to deal Germany within the EU with a huge disparity in influence and it’s very difficult seeing what Boris could reliably offer that would make up for having to navigate that relationship in such a damaged state for what could be decades.

Well he has something up his sleeve that's allowing him to say he'll ask for the extension but we'll still be leaving on Oct31.
I wonder if he can attach conditions to the request for extension which he knows the EU would have to reject.

Britain really has an odious and pathetic government and a toxic right-wing press. And the DUP might be the worst party that has ever existed. Sickening stuff, it honestly gets worse every week.

I love that that’s your second post since last October. If I posted so scarcely I’d dedicate every single rare post to slaughtering the UK government.

Of course they will. That's what brexit is about. Send the foreigners home. They've taken your jobs. Just a shame Charmelle from Bolton won't have any interest in taking on those jobs picking fruit, cleaning hotel rooms or being a fucking doctor.

Kezia Dugdale, former Scottish Labour leader and a lead campaigner for Better Together has quit Labour "over their stance on Brexit". There's been rumours for a couple of years now that she will campaign for Scottish Independence if there is another referendum.
I honestly think there's a chance Ruth Davidson will go the same way if Boris manages to force through a no-deal. Then we'd have the 2 lead campaigners having switched sides.
