Interesting to see the fallout on Monday if/when Boris hasn't sent the letter. Joanna Cherry already has the Scottish Courts primed for a sitting which may compel the Speaker to sign and send the letter on behalf of the House.
Boris needs jail time.

So apparently a letter is being sent to the EU to request an extension, but it won't be signed by the PM. Seems like a fucking 10 year olds way to get out of looking like a cunt.

Yeh I can't see them turning it down and having all fingers pointed at them for a no-deal Brexit.

The EU could wait a bit before granting the request to put a bit of pressure on Parliament to ratify the deal but it’s almost unthinkable they’d allow No Deal if push came to shove.
I think the length of the extension is completely up the EU now with the PM obliged to accept whatever they offer.

31st of Jan has been the assumed date for the extension for the past few weeks. Gives enough time for referendum/election, if anyone actually wants that to happen.

They know they cant, but they'll try so that Bercow has to block it and they can point the finger at him.

Johnson going all in Will they call his bluff? I think he’s terrified of the amendments, especially Customs Union and transition extension rather than No Deal to be the default at the end of 2020. Would instantly kill support from the ERG who he’s thrown his entire lot in with and ends the narrative of being able to sign new trade deals around the world. Would also have to go back to the EU and renegotiate on the basis of the amendments if they passed.

Yes this "deal" was all about getting this past Westminster and giving complete control back to the government. They could then sit on their hands for a year and get their Hard Brexit by default, and with nobody able to stop them. That's why the likes of JRM are on board with this deal. It's why they're not concerned about how a border down the Irish sea would work, because they've no intention of it ever being in place. They want a hard border on land but don't have the balls to say it.
I've seen labour MPs saying they are backing this, and some even admitting they are backing it without any intention of reading it. These sort of people should be found in contempt of parliament.
Any Labour MP who supports this, who has previously voted on a "avoid no-deal" basis is either a fucking retard or a massive coward who really wants to see a no-deal but can't admit it. All a vote for this does is nullify the work parliament did to ensure they had the power to stop no-deal.
I don't see Boris winning the vote tonight and he will focus on trying to get the EU to reject the extension. Labour will hold off agreeing to a GE until the EU extension comes through which it probably will.
If labour can't win a GE vs Boris who has just so obviously failed in his "over my dead body" headline commitment then they will never win one.
