Hmmm. We'll see what this does. Still think Johnson is winning any election with a large majority in the next few months.

Honestly I don’t know. The polls were predicting a massive Theresa May majority in 2017 and we all know how that turned out. It’s the hope that kills you etc etc etc

Corbyn is in a far worse position now though. Corbyn can't win with Brexit on the table because his position doesn't get voters while Johnson's does. Arguably his best position is for brexit to pass with a few amendments about workers rights and wait a few years, I don't think it's what he wants but it is the only way he could possibly take many votes from the Lib Dems.

Ball is in Corbyn's court now RE: General Election. If he doesnt take one on now he needs to step down. There will never be a better chance to beat Boris than right after he's been put back into his box and with the Brexit Party still involved.

Nothing new unfortunately. The right has been co-opting the left's words for over a century now. Talk of defeating the capitalist owning class became the Jewish owning class, socialism became national socialism, preserving the rights of the working class became preserving the rights of the Germans/Americans/British. How many republicans quote MLK nowadays? Or Gandhi? Or Mandela?
Comparing the plight of Ireland in the 1910s to Britain in the 2010s is of course ridiculous, but the words sound good so they get twisted to fit their agenda.

Collins was definitely not left wing fyi, not in the Connolly mould anywayz
Him quoting Collins is ridiculous on loads of levels because:
1. It implies the EU-UK relationship is similar to the then UK-Ireland one 2. The Anglo-Irish treaty caused immediate Civil War and the legacy of the partition of Ireland is still causing huge issues today 3. Collins was assassinated for this treaty
There’s no doubt in my mind that Owen Paterson, former Secretary of State for NI, has little knowledge or regard for all that though
