Thought this could be a good base for people to discuss stuff from the magazine 442, generally good stuff in it, this month Ronaldo is top of their Top 100 list!
Pretty good feature on Ozil aswell, wasn't aware of all the fallout from Schalke.
Top 100

The problem with numbered lists like this is it's difficult to compare players that are massively different - Bale was one of the best players in the world this year, but so was Lahm, in massively different ways. There's so many things you could factor in, it's why trying to break it down to a simple "score" is silly. Besides, people really only care about the top 10, is there much difference between 59 and 49?
I'd do it in similar fashion to the Oscars, have different categories - Best Full Back, Best Attacking Midfielder, yadda, and then one of just Best Player. Seems fairer.

Suarez is certainly better than Neymar, and 19th...

No Mertesacker either is a travesty. Or Koscielny if we're on about calendar year.

How Falcao is 4th and higher then Ibra and Iniesta is beyond me, great goalscorer but no where near those in terms of ability.
Would have Ibra 3rd, Ribery 4th and Iniesta 5th in my opinion.

Mata at 27th :<
Some odd ones, Busquets and Neymar were a little too high imo.

Bale only at 8, behind Lahm? Lahm is one of the best players in the world imo, he has seamlessly moved from full-back to defensive midfielder under Guardiola and is controlling games. Guardiola said that he is the most intelligent player he has ever seen and that's saying something. Neymar is underrated by everyone here, no-one mentioned him as being world-class except me in a thread a while back. Will be by the end of the summer anyway. Has settled into Barca well and was easily the best player in the Confed Cup. Iniesta and Falcao are both too high. I'd say Van Persie too. Iniesta hasn't been great recently, Fabregas has been better this season. Schweinsteiger is too low so is Robben

Had a quick skim read and didn't see Mertesacker. Assuming that's just an error.

Besides, people really only care about the top 10, is there much difference between 59 and 49? 10 places m8. I don't like these things cos defenders and (particularly) keepers are usually massively undervalued. Haven't looked at this yet though so I could be wrong about this time. Stu Holden must be in #CLplayer
