I don't think it's a con at all, it's just a structured way of getting people to eat everything in moderation. Which, ya know, is how it should be. I guess you could say "con" in that you can do it without paying Slimming World but tbf, people need these kind of things to help them get into habits I reckon. I've tried loads of things just on my own and never managed to properly commit to anything so I think I'm that type of person as well who needs someone to hold my hand even though everything they're telling me I already know
Mum's been on it 3 years and has lost 4 stone. Plus the recipes are tasty enough judging from the last couple days ha

Have they actually started telling people how to eat and what is in the food they eat instead of treating them like children and saying "this is three syns, that's naughty, this is one syn, this is good" or whatever.

More down to a mental thing than anything isnt it? People lose weight cos they eat structured meals at decent times rather than eating shit at random times of the day. The food they're eating doesnt really change but they're doing it a better way, if that makes sense lol

No idea. But people are children aren't they? Otherwise these things wouldn't be successful

Yeah con may be a bit of a strong term, I just think it's a bit mollycoddling as Cashis' says.
Like, it's decent in teaching people portion sizes and the like, but from what I've seen of it it's a bit simplistic in what it actually 'teaches' beyond sins and free food, but I guess that's part of the reason it does so well because people come to rely on their teachings when they see it working.
And as long as it works idm really.

My mum lost 8 stone without drastically changing her diet, she just cut down snacking and took up running to the extreme. Was very proud when she completed the couch to 5k. Now she does half marathons

I've been in Ireland since Thursday. Mum's made me a fry every morning, I've had beef and guinness pie, a massive homemade burger and a lovely curry. Homemade cooking is the best. She's on slimming world as well so she insists it's all "free" yeah but are you a zombie mate

Any of you lot been to the fright nights event at Thorpe Park? I'd figured the sort of horror maze thing was getting more and more popular given we're getting them pop up around here on random farms and the like, but I've been reading reviews of the "brave it alone" thing they're doing this year and I just don't get the appeal?
Basically, in normal opening time you pay a little extra to do one of the mazes, go through in a group, few live actors, few jump scares, nothing much. Then if you pay extra you're able to go into the mazes after the park closes, on your own, for a more 'intense' experience. But from what I've read (and seen on the odd clip on YouTube) you're stripped, bound with gaffa tape, pissed on (fake urine obviously), made to handle genitals (sex toys), before being led back out in front of everyone bound gagged and covered in whatever.
Now having written that I've probably sold it to some of you who'd get a kick from that but, really, why?

Deleting my facebook, cancelling my broadband and probably removing my life in the next hour. Ild rather be dead than be classed as the same race
