Cashis i gather that your missus has generally put up with loads but what's her opinion on your current views because you seem to hold strong views be it anti-religion or anti killing animals for food? Are you ranting irl too? not having any kind of dig, genuinely interested

I'm not that interested in getting into a discussion on theology with someone who incites hatred against religion whilst complaining that religion incites hatred. Annoying how spot on you are here Pat Condell ffs Christopher Hitchens take your fancy instead? In addition to your above post, you ought to have quoted Maski and asked him why he even had to pose his ridiculous question about how do we know right from wrong without a God watching over us (3rd post of the thread). Now that is outrageous.

I tend to save my ranting for the Internet tbh, I never go all out when other people are in my presence cos then you get thick people comparing you to the archetypal conspiracy theorist or calling you a tree hugger for having the gall to look into something that isn't football booze drugs cars or video games. Plus, it'd be hypocritical to rant about the killing of animals when I'm still currently eating meat, so I keep schtum on that one. My missus has similar views to me, just not as strong. She's vegetarian and dislikes religion too. She's a teacher so she has to teach RE of course but she always makes it clear to the children that it's just a belief held by a group of people. t

I was the only non-Catholic (well me and my bros) at my Catholic primary school, my mum basically sent me to a propaganda camp till I was 11. When everyone was getting their holy communions and that I was allowed the week off on the schools orders so me and religin have a love hate relationship

Now that is outrageous. He's right, though. We don't know in any sort of absolute objective sense. You mentioned the law and other people as sources for a personal 'moral code' but those are really just legal and societal pressures coming about from the cultural norms of the day. There are many things we find reprehensible about the way society lived 100 years ago and there will also be aspects of how we live in the present day that people in the centuries ahead find unacceptable. There's no way of knowing what those will be.
