It's a shame that for one of the most exciting and baffling seasons in English football history there is little to play for on the final day with the tItle already secure and relegation already confirmed. With that said, let's get into the final round of this season's Premier League. All games are 3PM kick off on Sunday.
Arsenal are one of the few teams with something still to play for. An unlikely loss to Villa this weekend could see them slip to 4th while a win and a Spurs loss will see them finish 2nd. Villa were confirmed as relegated a while ago with one of the worst points totals ever in the English top flight.
Last season's champions welcome the new Champions, 'welcome' likely being quite far from the truth. It'll likely be 90 minutes of Chelsea fans patting themselves on the back and calling Claudio Ranieri 'one of our own'. There is nothing to play for here, although a freak 17 goal swing could see Chelsea drop into the bottom half.
Everton, having sacked Roberto Martinez, host relegated Norwich to Goodison in a game that means little to anyone.
Man United are still chasing 4th and should City lose against Swansea, beating Bournemouth could see them steal a Champions League place from their neighbours.
Newcastle were relegated last night despite not even playing as results elsewhere confined them to the drop for the second time in a decade. Tottenham will want to win to secure second place and avoid another St. Totteringham's Day.
Southampton have had a brilliant season and topping it off by making Alan Pardew sad would be the icing on the cake. However, it is not a game of huge significance as Saints are relying on things to go their way if they want to finish 5th, which they can do with a win.
Stoke have had a very strange season. For years considered hard to beat they've decided to bin that this year and instead be easy to beat, and they have the worst goal difference in the top half by far. Their opponents, Boleyn Ground FC, apparently, will hope to erase the whole embarrassment of Tuesday's performance, ironically given they won, by beating Stoke and possibly finishing 5th. 4th is still mathematically possible, although it needs a 16 goal swing in their favour.
Swansea will simply be there to be a nuisance to Manchester City who want to confirm their top 4 place by winning and keeping United out of the Champions League for next season. Only a loss will put City in danger of losing their place, although 3rd is still possible, though improbable.
Watford can celebrate a successful return back to the Premier League by joining the party atmosphere likely emanating from the Sunderland end, and wherever Sweeney is on Sunday.
West Brom finish another season of Pulis exemplified, having avoided relegation but also not really threatened the top half. Welcoming Liverpool, whose focus will likely be on the Europa League final, expect a dire game. However, West Brom might have their new kit on, and it's bloody lovely.
So, where can the teams finish?
Leicester: C
Spurs: 2nd-3rd
Arsenal: 2nd-4th
City: 3rd-6th
United: 4th-7th
West Ham: 4th-8th
Southampton: 5th-8th
Liverpool: 6th-8th
Chelsea: 9th-11th
Stoke: 9th-11th
Swansea: 10th-14th
Everton: 11th-16th
Watford: 11th-16th
Palace: 12th-16th
West Brom: 12th-16th
Bournemouth: 12th-16th
Sunderland: 17th
Newcastle: 18th-19th
Norwich: 18th-19th
Villa: 20th
I have taken absolutely every extreme scenario into account there but it's possible, City got beat 8-1 once.
