I didnt say not to vote, but read up on stuff and see which side you believe is telling the truth. 75% of the stuff you'll read is figures that are pretty much guesses, all comes down to personal choice of what you think affects your life the most. Certainly wouldnt just vote for the sake of doing it.

They only do that cos they take the all the cleaning jobs from hard working Brits, even though they think they're above them anyway.
Also this shit is important, an uninformed vote is better than being a coward and not voting imo.
Less than 50% turnout and it gets scrapped so you might as well vote to stay anyway.

I appreciate the reply my man. You raise some good points and to be honest I obviously don't know much about it. However it does have something to do with Europe regarding benefits when we have Eastern Europeans over here making a mug of the benefits system and sending payouts home or living in properties at the taxpayers expense in Britain. Holy fuck you've been brainwashed by the press, report for your daily mail cleansing lobotomy Do you know any real world cases of this btw?

My mate voted out and when I asked him why he said he flipped a coin. The fucking tit.
I'm not voting cause I cba sifting through shite to decide which way to vote. Without research I'd probably vote in for selfish reasons.

Hopefully you vote to stay, customs at the Ireland-Northern Ireland border will surely end up a pain. I'd rather my hometown didn't border a non-EU country and it is potentially crap for border towns north and south. EU has done a lot in cross border projects and helped the transition from the peace process.
I think Brexit could be a bit of a nightmare for Northern Ireland in general.

Tbf, the EU had fuck all to do with the peace process
Other points are valid though. Donald Trump could give them tips on a wall being built from Warrenpoint to Bridgend

As expected, immigration is literally all anyone wants to talk about.

Went to the live Evening Standard referendum debate in London today. Umunna comes out with the line about most migration to the UK being from outside the EU and Australia having higher immigration per head than the UK. There's two women sitting in front of me. One turns to the other and whispers "that can't be right". The other one shakes her head. "Nah, don't believe it".

caroline lucas' point is solid - why are the only options regarding migration to attack it or defend it? why isn't people being able to look for (and often find) opportunities abroad ever considered a good thing

It's a good thing when it's an opportunity for you, nor for others. Blatant hypocrisy. Ireland's awful for it. So many people emigrate but immigration is seen as a terrible thing

I will read into that link you provided. I'll follow this thread closely like but I'm not going to change my mind, I'm probably ignorant but I just fancy change and think we could do just as well without having to be a part of the EU. They need us more than we need them if you consider how much we spend on their products yet our output to them isn't that high. Aware you said you won't change your mind but fuck it. That last point is totally wrong matey, first of all, who is "they" that needs us? If we leave the EU, the first thing we'll want to do is retain trade with the rest of the EU anyway, in order to do so we must accept every piece of legislation relating to the economic area, so that's free movement of goods and people, etc etc. Furthermore, UK agriculture exists in it's current form almost entirely due to the massive EU subsidies that we receive to benefit this area. If we leave, these disappear, and the majority of the money "saved" will have to go on this area, in particular if we don't immediately agree a trade deal with the European Union - We're actually only a net contributor to the EU by £110m or something around that figure, which is a tiny price to pay for the solidarity and political security it provides us. Even worse, to use Norway as a comparison as Brexiters so often do, not only are Scandinavians by nature far more isolationist and therefore independent as nations in comparison to the Internationally expansive Brits, Norway has oil amongst other things. Oil is a finite resource and so in super high demand obviously, making Norway a hugely attractive trading partner for the EU amongst others. Britain's main export is Financial Services, which while again in high demand, is far less finite and can easily be replicated, for example in Paris or Frankfurt, cities in which there's expected to be huge growth if Britain does leave the EU. This will leave us in a trade deficit, which while not entirely surprising as a capital exporting country by nature, but it leaves a huge strain on our economy, which is poor as it is. The Turkey joining the EU as a reason to leave is unbelievably stupid, but I can't be bothered to go into detail as I'm sure everyone here is reasonably well informed on it anyway? The other main reason I'm voting to stay though is the fact that were we to leave, we'd be in the genuinely unique position where we have ZERO currently active trade related treaties or agreements, which means that every single country we trade with would have to agree to a new trade deal with us. Now this is fine and actually really good for wannabe Commercial lawyers like me, but I do not for one second trust the current government with effectively handling such a task, especially for the best interests of the whole country. Call it cynical, but that's a huge concern for me.
