What is your favourite Grand Theft Auto game of all time? I've recently replayed GTA SA and VC and was impressed with how well they have aged, both are still brilliant games and up there with my all time favourites. Overall I think San Andreas takes it for the sheer amount of hours i've ploughed into the game over the years, the music, the missions, the size of the map and the setting make it the best GTA game in my opinion.

Definitely San Andreas. I hated 4 but did really like 5, probably because it had a similarish vibe to San Andreas.

San Andreas for me as well. Started with 3 and didn't really warm to it, loved Vice City and it still has one of the best video game soundtracks ever. But San Andreas was near perfect for me, I'd love a remake of the map with the modern engine because of how much better and more varied they can make it.
4 is a better game in hindsight although I hated it at the time, especially better with the DLC and 5 is a good game but it just doesn't feel as fun as the older games did.

Main thing I didn't like with 5 was Trevor, his missions were annoying, he was a twat as well. The 3 character thing didn't really work for me, hope it's not like that in the next one.

Really torn between SA and VC didn't particularly enjoy anything after them (didn't like 4 at all, struggled to enjoy 5 but may give another chance) they were ahead of 3 easily. San Andreas may be the "better" game but there is something special about Vice City that no other game has I'll go for Vice City as it has no votes yet.

I like the new ones, no one else seems to like them as much but I can waste hours online with them.
I remember loving one of the PSP as well, think it was Liberty City Stories.

San Andreas, not even close.
FOLLOW THE DAMN TRAIN, CJ!
I need to give V a proper go, might download it for the PC over summer. Didn't enjoy it much on console though when it first came out. Also didn't think IV was all that good. Vice City was amazing but it fell down abit in terms of gameplay today holding up to the nostalgia whereas I can still play San Andreas now.

Always be GTA3 for me. Was first proper GTA game I got into (although the original was immense on PS1 and one of my first gaming experiences, remember whoring the 15 minute demos you used to get over and over at a mates house), the London expansions were amazing. But I had GTA3 on the PC, so I was able to install loads of mods which just made it amazing. The story was great too.
San Andreas has the best story of all the games but I just wasn't overly fond of the map.
Liberty City Stories on the PSP was amazing, probably up there at number 2.
GTA IV is the weakest of the lot for me; it was still a very good game, I just have no real attachment to it the way I do all the others.

III for me. Something about that map just made it work so well. I still remember how to get from 8 Balls garage up the hill to the mafia then down to the hospital and police station before cutting across the grass to the junkyard. I also remember shitting myself over having to give 8 Ball almost all of my money for the mission where you have to bomb a ship.
I was also just a fan of the silent protagonist.
