Ah near Laurencekirk. Not too long a drive into the city but definitely outside any restriction zone they'll put in place. Local rumour has this outbreak starting with 2 offshore workers - one French, one English - who travelled here to get choppered to a rig. On check-in they had their temperature checked and told it was too high and to get tested. Got tested and while waiting for their results sat in a city centre bar getting hosed. Absolutely no substance to the rumours but as it blames the English I'll go for it. I read today that the Frenchman flew into Manchester and got the Megabus up last week.

Have seen that and the offshore link makes sense given one of the pubs on the list was right next to the heliport.
Other bars on that NHS released list had not even been contacted for their customers details for test and trace.
An Aberdeen player has now tested positive with suggestions that the player broke protocols.
What a shit show.

ahaha 2 players tested positive, 6 others have to self-isolate for 14 days. 3 games we'll be without 8 players

Rhetorical question given the shitshows running things up there but was consideration not given by the league that this may happen?
What happens if more have to isolate and you can't field a team?

I think the idea was they would treat these outbreaks on a case by case basis. For example if you've stuck to all the guidelines but got an outbreak, or you caught it on the field against another team, then games would be postponed as the club had done everything they could. In normal circumstances it would only be those who tested positive who would miss the game as there are stringent off-field distancing measures put in place at the training grounds and so as long as the other players have a negative test within 24 hours before kickoff they can play.
In this case the 8 players broke not only the SFA guidelines for return to football but the Scottish Government guidelines which even the general public have to follow. There was a leaked Scottish Government email yesterday saying they had to show football was no exception. The players were out in a crowded city centre bar in a group larger than was allowed by the government, and in one of the bars that has been shown to have been ignoring government guidelines on distancing. In this case, because this group of players broke guidelines outside the controlled environment of our training ground, the government has taken the approach that the 2 players who tested positive need to be contact traced like anyone else and the other 6 players obviously show up in that. And as it took place outside the "bio-safe" environment the usual concessions made to footballers wont apply and they will have to isolate for 14 days.
The SPFL have quite rightly made us play the game as the players have put themselves and the club in this situation. If we were to have had more players out to the extent where we'd fail to field a team I'm sure we'd have to forfeit the game.
The list of 8 players is not confirmed yet. There's a list going round but it could quite easily be total nonsense. The bookies have reacted by putting us 4/1 on Saturday. Depending on the players out (hoping they are confirmed during the press conference today) I might lump on us.

It's nice us in the North East have managed to reduce the weekly infection rate simply by constantly going to the pub.
Makes you proud.

No surprise tbh. Loads of agency workers cramming into buses without masks on, living in HMO's in poor conditions.
So many morons who haven't been taking warnings seriously too and doubting everything because they saw something on Facebook.
