I really enjoyed the quarter finals etc all being over one week, I thought it was great, made it seem more like an international tournament. I don’t hate this idea, I actually think it gives the smaller teams a bit of a boost (should they get that far), they have more chance of beating the bigger teams over 90 minutes than 180. I’m fine with it to be honest, though I get fans of these clubs might want to watch a semi final in their stadium.
Might create a bit of chaos for the last game of the domestic season though. Given how much is often riding on that, you could have 3 teams in the Premier League playing weakened sides, assuming the season finishes on the Sunday and the semi finals are played Tuesday and Wednesday.

Sounds like a brilliant idea..... for the tv viewers.
If you’ve ever been to watch your own team, at your own stadium, with 55 thousand other fans, play and especially win a European Cup semi final, then it sounds like an absolute bag of shite. Fuck off.

Hmmm.
I quite like the idea of them taking place in one city/region, as long as they use different stadiums.
Semi's at Emirates/Spurs ground with a final at Wembley would be decent. And for some fans, I'm sure they'd love the experience. It massively increases costs though and there's only so many cities who could cater for it. Also not sure of the logistics or sensibility of having four different sets of fans in the one area having a week long piss up.
Tbf the reaction to Wembley semi's for the FA Cup hasn't been nearly as strong or sustained as I thought it would be.
Obviously the main loser is the matchgoing fan - but that's modern football for you, they've extracted as much money as they can from them so now they need to look elsewhere.
Let's hope someone takes a stand against it.

UEFA hate the attention the ESL got for being terrible and decided to try and one up them.

On a brighter note away goals are getting scrapped,

I'd rather both teams somehow lost so I guess I'm just hoping for a good game.
Odd line up from Pep, no Fernandinho or Rodri. Is he overthinking a big game again? Chelsea's big threat I'd argue is the counter.

If Chelsea get to 60 minutes goalless I fancy them. All the pressure on City.

Perfectly poised at half time - Pep really needs to address his midfield and add some balance in there because Chelsea are just waltzing through at will and after the initial wave City weren't really dominating as you'd assume they would with that line-up.

Its an absolutely great run from Werner for the goal. He's been the best player on the pitch until he's got anywhere near goal.

I think I've heard Mahrez or Silva's names once in an hour.

Haven't seen much EPL/CL football this season but what's happened to Sterling? A shadow of his former self.

Ben Chilwell has been so good here. Probably been fair enough questions of his capabilities at this level but he’s been next to perfect.
