Something I've seen a fair few Spanish media discussing and, amazingly, it seems it may actually be a possibility in the summer.
Mbappe is available on a free transfer. He'd command a HUGE wage, but without a transfer fee that's not beyond the realms of possibility. City, Chelsea, United, Liverpool, Barca, Madrid, Bayern could pay his wages. He's flirted with Madrid for a while and it's basically an open secret that Perez is desperate to land him. I think unless there's something dramatic that happens, he'll be in Madrid next year.
Haaland has a 70 million euro release clause this summer. Dortmund aren't in the CL knock-out stages, and are off Bayern's pace in the league already. Raiola is already flirting with the superclubs and it's pretty much expected for him to move on in the summer.
For 70 million euros you could get Mbappe AND Haaland. You'd pay a fuckton in wages though. Would it be worth it? Possibly, at the end of their next contract they would still have some residual value so you'd make your money back on them. Anyway, onto the point of the thread.
If we assume Mbappe is going to Madrid. Would you rather Haaland went there too and we got to see the two brightest talents in world football playing in the same squad? Or would you rather Laporta sold his soul, his shoes and everything else he can find to stop Madrid getting him?
The Ronaldo/Messi bollocks that overtook a lot of the Clasico drama was tedious, but it did add a lot to the game and indeed the league. And Haaland at Barca would be R9 Ronaldo levels of epic imo.
For me, I'm going for both to Real Madrid - I think in the long run having them in the same league but against each other would be better, but I just don't want to see Barcelona do well.
