At least he won’t be managing us now, which some fans wanted for some bizarre reason. All aboard the Arteta train for when Emery is inevitably sacked. I know Arsenal fans want Emery gone but why do so many of you want Arteta? Surely the job is far too big for him right now.

I feel we are at a stage where we can take a punt on a manager. He is highly rated from those who have worked with/under him. I would also say there are no standout contenders, having failed with the “safe” Emery option.
Also get the feeling that Arteta would have us playing exciting football (or at least more than the boring football we currently play).

He's probably spent the morning retraining as an emergency centre half

Troy Parrott not to get a single minute for the rest of the season then Lol not as if Poch was playing him every week either No, but Poch spoke really highly of him and had him in and around the senior squad for training and all that. There was definite rumblings that he'd be getting minutes in the FA Cup for eg. Mourinho literally said at the start of this season that if Lampard picked Abraham he was "not having a serious season" and Tammy is obviously further developed than Parrott is. That's the indicator of what Mourinho thinks of youth players. I'm not saying Parrott would solve all Spurs problems, I'm just looking at it from an Irish POV and everyone is really excited about him. It's not just about him getting game time, it's also that he had a manager there that really believed in him and his new manager famously just doesn't trust young players at all, so what's it gonna do for his development having Mourinho in charge?

I think Parrott's only been offered a new deal this week, not sure if he's signed it yet or not but imagine he signed it yesterday and Mourinho is appointed today, I would be so pissed if that was me

For what it's worth, Mourinho singled out u21 centre half Tanganga in training yesterday to one of his coaches for development so there might be hope yet in terms of youth, and you have to imagine Mourinho isn't deaf to the praise surrounding Parrott. If he reverts to a two-up-top formation, if it isn't immediately Alli that plays off Kane but just behind, then there could be a chance for our lord and saviour Troy. I just hope he doesn't go out on loan for the next 4 years. If he can stay and get minutes here and there with players like Son, Alli, and Ndombele behind him it'll soon be clear that he can be a top top player.
