The major negatives I can see are re-entry to the EU and currency - because there are no definites there it's a bit scary for Scottish people who are 50/50 (or so I imagine).

Would you need to build embassies etc. in foreign countries if you're independent? Was wondering about foreign policy etc. the other day and I wasn't sure what would happen in regards to if if you got independence. Between 70-90 overseas offices, according to the White Paper. These are the initial locations they have...

I was initially sure i'd be voting no when the referendum was announced - despite loving the IDEA of an independent Scotland, i seriously doubted it would work out in practice - but i've slowly come around to the idea. Moving to England probably influenced that somewhat. Haven't had time to read the white paper yet, though, will try to get through it when i go back over christmas.
Will have to pretend to move back for a bit to get the vote though.

To be fair im voting No, I dont see how my life will improve if we become independant and thats the main factor for me. For once I share the same opinion as jambo, with 2 kids to support things aren't bad at all at the moment and I don't like the idea of insecurity surrounding our future if we were independent. No need for change

Initially i was 100% a yes voter. Thats sort of decreased the more i have read up on it and the more i have listened to other people opinions. I'd say i'm still atleast 60/40 in favour of independance though. Just have to take one glance to a country of similar size to us in Norway to see how much of a better standard of life Scotland could have.

Yup, the next Scottish general election isn't until 2016 so he'd still be First Minister until then. He could resign i guess, but don't see why he would.

J.K Rowling has said she's voting no. May as well give it up now Salmond! Celebrity endorsements are going to have nothing to do with the outcome of the referendum. Maskya Yoshida do you have a link to that? Unfortunately there's people on both sides who go well over the mark with personal comments. It's amazing how often the Better Together campaign have been caught out telling lies. The most recent scandal is their presentation of a "non-political mother of three" who has been exposed as being on Labour's shadow cabinet.

Well it was tongue in cheek but I do think the likes of Rowling have a bit of influence purely because of their standing in Scottish society. Nothing major and in all honesty reading her reasoning for voting No, if I was Scottish they'd nearly be the same reasons I'd vote Yes.
