Right result coming through. There needs to be change, but independence wasn't the way forward. It was an emotional decision by Yes voters, and that's no way to decide something so important.

I'll hold off to see exactly what is going to change but I'm not holding my breath for anything major. It's ridiculous to think that so many people voted against our own country's independence. No country in history has ever voted against its own independence. It's fucking embarrassing.

If Scotland were to become independent you would be an afterthought on the world stage with an economy in the tubes.

There is no way anyone can know Scotland would be in the shitter if it became independent. Oh but then again, politicians and the media told us we would be so it must be true. It is however true that staying in the union will mean we are run by a Tory government (I'll wait and see how many "more powers" our master at Westminster gives to us) and for me, going into the unknown would be a better option than getting shafted by that lot again.

Oh no the temporary leadership in parliament doesn't suit us that must mean it's time to become independent with no thought as to how that is going to work.
I get that you are all frustrated by the current government, but independence is not a viable solution. Scotland does not have the infrastructure, resources or wealth to be a strong economy on it's own. In addition many businesses would leave Scotland if they had gone independent. I can tell you that as an American we don't look at Scotland as an embarrassment. On the contrary we would have thought that had you guys actually followed through and became independent because it makes no sense to do so.

You're predicting things there you have no proof for but whatever, it's done. Congrats to the No, commiserations to the Yes but hopefully something comes from it for Scotland

That vote was much, much closer than this one though. Also different scenarios.

I can tell you that as an American we don't look at Scotland as an embarrassment. On the contrary we would have thought that had you guys actually followed through and became independent because it makes no sense to do so. Scotland has more than enough resources. Several articles actually suggested we could be the 14th richest country in the world. I felt it was embarrassing because no country has ever voted against its own independence but now the thing making me embarrassed is the way people who voted yes are reacting to the defeat. It does make sense to become independent imo, I was completely against it at the start of this campaign and laughed off the thought of it but Scotland had a chance and did not take it. There was going to be change either way and I just hope Westminster stick to their promises and I hope that things change for the better.
