Watched Mania last night. Obviously it wasn’t like a regular Mania with the pomp and ceremony and cameos (this was autocorrected to camels but that’s more a Super Showdown thing than a Mania thing) but for the circumstances I think they did a good job.
AJ/Taker was so much better than I was expecting, even the promo package before it managed to make the build up seem better. I’d actually like to see Taker/Bray in this sort of match. Have The Fiend bring back visions from Taker’s past, like old school Mankind, original Kane, Shawn Michaels, Triple H, Big Show, Austin, Edge. Obviously you’re limited by availability but start with minor allies/foes like Gangrel, Mideon, Acolytes with their original look and build up, like a mental torture ordeal before Taker finally gets to Bray/Fiend. Maybe that sounds shit but in my head it looks awesome... and you get to use a bunch of big name older talent in a way that doesn’t risk them getting injured or make everyone sad because they can’t go any more.
The stuff in the PC varied but other than Corbin/Elias and Goldberg/Strowman I found it to be a pretty good watch. Rollins/KO and the triple threat ladder match were excellent.
I’m assuming Cena/Bray will be like AJ/Taker tonight.

I was massively impressed with Taker AJ tbh. Reckon that's the future for Taker, keep him away from the ring but use his legend to make matches like that.
Mad that they sacked Matt off and then went and put that on though.

Err... Firefly Funhouse was... I don’t even know. I honestly hadn’t read spoilers when I made the suggestion about Taker/Bray. I think I liked the premise, my biggest issue with it was the tone of the production in places and the fact that Cena just cannot act. Like, at all. Give it to the Boneyard production team and someone that can convey the relevant emotions and I think the concept works.
Also, way to shit on it when they cut back to the regular show.
Night 2 hasn’t been that bad overall but currently Night 1 takes it for me. Maybe the Main Event will change that.

JR's new book is a must read for wrestling fans, highly recommend it
Between that book and the latest DSOTR series there is a serious amount of shade being thrown at Vince McMahon at the moment. When the Owen episode drops in a couple of weeks his public image could sink to depths you'd think it never could recover from. I've recently read Martha Hart's book and she and her son Oje are both going to feature in the episode, and that must surely feel like a ticking timebomb for Vince. The night Owen died he didn't want to be up there in the first place, he was told he'll either do the stunt or he'll lose his job. Vince doesn't come out of this scenario as anything but a cunt with blood on his hands
This season's already bought extra prominence to his helping Snuka get away with murder and when the details of Owen's death are once again rehashed but this time with the input of Owen's family Vince is walking a tightrope like never before

Jesus man the Owen episode...honestly I think its the first time a tv programme or film or anything has bought a tear to my eye, fuck the worst part of the whole ordeal that wasn’t touched on in the episode is how Martha has been painted as some sort of villain, for not letting the company that was responsible for her husbands death, inducted into this shit hall of fame Couple years ago you had Mark Henry saying Oje should be a wrestler cos its in his blood and pleading to Martha to let Owen be inducted. Really feel for her, I would be the exact same, and it looks really bad for Vince and co

Until wrestling fans read her book they'll never really understand why she doesn't want Owen's name to be profited from, she's been made out to be some hard nosed bitch by parts of the wrestling community, so I always assumed there was more to here I was obviously unaware of but its just greedy selfish fans really
The way she has raised her kids in the wake of a tragedy is really contrasting to the rest of Owen's family. Davey and Anvils wives were scum looking to side with McMahon for future job security after their brothers corpse has been scraped off of a ring on Vince's watch. Fucking scum man.
Another huge contrast is the attitude of the children involved in this tragedy and the attitude of one involved in a separate one, David Benoit. Oje wants his fathers untainted name kept well away from anything to do with WWE and his legacy to be the Owen Hart Foundation while David wants his father and all the ill-feeling his name carries to be inducted and celebrated in the Hall of Fame, he wants to be a wrestler and wrestle with the name Benoit and as unfortunate as it is for him that realistically is never going to happen. One of the carnier Hart brothers even tried to book him on an indie event a few years ago until Chavo intervened. But the difference in mindset of the children involved is what really highlights the job Martha has done and the level of credit she deserves

Crazy that they let the show carry on man. Blood still on the canvas, an actual fucking death just happened in that ring. They’re obsessed with this ‘the show must go on’ mentality, its ridiculous

Already been rumours that Roman has heat from taking a leave during Corona isn’t there? Might not be true but who’d be surprised, CM Punk wasn’t wrong about it being better after Vince

Might not be true but who’d be surprised, CM Punk wasn’t wrong about it being better after Vince i think the rumours got fueled cos Roman got edited out of this top 10 MITB cash-in list they recently did, from the time Seth cashed it in. But apparently its just a coincidence lol weird either way Also RIP Hana and Shad. Tough week for wrestling all round

I think they've removed Roman from stuff you see on TV cos people don't know when he's back and they don't want it being a constant reminder that he isn't there. It's always been their viewpoint of out of sight out of mind lol
