Every time I read the left backs name the dulcet tones of Nate Dogg and Warren G resonate around my brain

For most of our squad every second thought is about their hair, I give it two weeks of Bale strutting around the training ground before three quarters of them are rocking the Welsh mullet

Gutted we're selling Hoever but £10m for an 18 year old with no league games under his belt seems like a good deal from our end.

The Bale effect is in full motion though because the two absolutely dire performances we've put in this week already feel like ancient history, whether his best days are behind him or not, whatever condition he's in, however little game time he's had this was a fan base and more importantly a squad that was in such an obvious need of a lift, some inspiration and some kind of lifeline to cling to for this season and beyond.
Between the sideshow of the last 12 months and the documentary and the shitshows on the pitch already this season Levy has had a point to prove more than ever and realistically speaking there isn't anything more he could've done than to bring back Bale.
I feel for Bale because he's gone from one pressure cooker situation at Madrid (when he was in the team anyway) to a whole different kind of one. The whole weight of this underachieving, underperforming clubs expectations immediately fall upon his shoulders. Hopefully the chance to send a huge fuck you to Zidane should be more than enough motivation. Hopefully all his time on the sidelines has resulted in a top class footballer ready to burst out with a point to prove like never before. Hopefully there is that phenomenonal athlete still primed and ready to scare the life out of defenders. Six days into our season hope is all I have and all I can offer for our prospects

Jota is a strange signing imo, think he’s been very inconsistent at Wolves, £35m on him seems a lot. Undoubtedly talented though, and probably an improvement on the current backup at Liverpool.

i really like jota and considering we’ve had origi mostly stinking up the left wing for the last 18 months as a sub, i think he’s an upgrade
shame to lose hoever as i thought he had a real future here but at the same time, can’t sniff at £10m for someone with about 3 first team appearances
a centre half to fill in as cover and we might be in position to challenge for the title this year i reckon

for origi as well i think i’m being harsh. he scored five of the biggest goals in our champions league season and should always receive his due credit, it’s honestly amazing he was even still here then considering there was talking of him leaving january last year but unless he’s ever going to get time as a striker there’s no role for him here at all

Jota is a strange signing imo, think he’s been very inconsistent at Wolves, £35m on him seems a lot. Undoubtedly talented though, and probably an improvement on the current backup at Liverpool. A lot of people said the same about Mane at Southampton. Not saying Jota is as good or will be as good though, just something to consider. I think considering we were in for Sarr for a similar price this is a great buy. We needed backup to the front three and he can play all the way across so I'm happy with that. £41m must mean we're selling a few now though. Hoever for £10m, how much you think we can get for Origi, Grujic, Brewster, Karius and Wilson? Paul

Pre-pandemic I think we were looking at ~30 for Origi, 20 for Grujic, 15-20 for Brewster, 10 for Karius and 20-30 for Wilson. Now though I dunno. It’s not as if demand for them will have dropped, its more a case of whether interested clubs will have the disposable money for them.

Fairly sure no one questioned how good Mane was when he was here... if anything people questioned how you only paid £30m for him
