I care about England, but disagree in so many ways about how the team is run, don't think Hodgson is the right man to take us forward but I'll support nonetheless.

What about stricter rules regarding fielding HG players lads? I'd prefer it because I wanna see more scousers in the Liverpool team in years to come as we could be at risk of losing that tradition when Gerrard's gone and Flano and co. get dropped for more foreign talent. As someone who couldn't give two shits about the PL taking a (possibly temporary) drop in quality, I'd be all for strict home grown player rules. It might not even do owt but we've got to try *something*.

I try to make every Scotland home qualifier. I've only missed Belgium (for legitimate reasons, not because I couldn't be arsed) over the last three campaigns. I don't bother with friendlies though, apart from when I went down to Wembley but that was more for the day out. The last friendly I went to before that was a 3-1 loss to Switzerland in 2006. I used to absolutely love going to Hampden Park, but Levein killed my whole enthusiasm for the team with his negative tactics. Now that we've Strachan in, I'm slowly starting to appreciate it again as the results pick up.

Re: Ireland, I really don't care. Actually, I hate international football. I wouldn't flinch if they scrapped it for good.

i find it tough forgetting how much of a cunt I think Wayne Rooney is and cheering him on for 90 minutes but in spite of that I still want my country to do well. I'm not one of these flag waving facepainted nutters and I'd definitely prefer it if they didn't have quite so many pointless friendlies, but when it matters I'm definitely supporting them and hoping they do well.

I'm a big fan of international football, I'm traditional in that I think that the World Cup is still the biggest competition in football. Can't wait for next summer and I loved the Confederations Cup. There is so much money in the game now with super clubs emerging that I find international football interesting. You have to deal with what talents you have in front of you. England have tried their best to produce the talents required but have failed, it will make it sweeter whenever they do. If you have a problem area in international football, you can't just throw £30m at someone.
Just hoping that the next World Cup is more like the Confederations Cup was in terms of positivity. Last world Cup was very disappointing from the vuvuzelas to entertainment value.

I think we're proving that you can do well with a squad made up of mainly English players if you give them a chance. I'll always support the National side, no matter who's in it or how shit we are. I don't get into it as much I do a Saints game, but I can never understand the people who laugh when England lose and outright support the country that we're playing. They're all cunts. Was going to reply "Or Scottish" to this, but instantly realised I'd get "same thing" thrown back. :/ I try to get behind Scotland, but when you've got certain (admittedly small) sections of the Scotland fans booing a Rangers player coming on as a sub for the crime of being a Rangers player it does to tend to fuck you off over the whole thing.

Huge fan of international football but found it hard to get excited about the Republic's team recently because of Trap.
Where's Gary when you need him, doesn't he hate the national team?

Me? I don't hate them. They're a major inconvenience during the season though. I quite like getting behind them for tournaments but I'll never be their biggest fan. I've spoke before in length about not feeling any connection with them. Doesn't help that they've been boring as shit for years.
I find it awesome watching Gerrard lead them out though. He's from the same part of Liverpool as me so it's mad to think about it. It was great seeing him in the euros and it'll be even better for a World Cup in Brazil.
