I was also aiming for the hour mark, but got 1:04:18. A little disappointed with it but gonna keep up the training and will hopefully smash that next time out.
Though I played fives last night and my knees and below are screaming in pain all day

Okay so I'm trying a low carb, high protein diet in an attempt to lose weight. Any recommendations on what to eat?

Did something similar before holiday just to cut bodyfat down. Easier for me as I get three breaks at work though so I was having a protein drink for breakfast, then at work it was 2 pots of bbq chicken slices, spinach, lettuce, sweetcorn and low fat mayo and 1 pot of 0% fat greek yoghurt with muesli and strawberries. Only thing I struggled with was what to eat for my evening dinner which often ended up being something boring likes an omelette with beans.
Figured whilst on holiday I'd take advantage of the gym and use a treadmill to see how quick I could do a mile considering my route here is quite hilly and I struggle to get much lower than 8 minutes. Managed to do it in 7 which I'm quite happy with, backs still holding up quite well too.

Okay so I'm trying a low carb, high protein diet in an attempt to lose weight. Any recommendations on what to eat? I wouldn't recommend that because once you've lost some weight and revert to a normal way of eating you're likely to put it all back on. You just need to eat less calories than you expend and choose healthier options. This is my diet 6 days out of 7 and then the day I'm off the gym the carbs are a bit lower; Breakfast - 50g oats, 300g greek yogurt, 125g cottage cheese, 100g frozen pineapple Pre workout (afternoon) - 1 wholemeal pitta with roast beef slices tucked inside with some salad. Post workout - 100g rice, 150g chicken and stir fry veggies. Evening snack - protein brownie, 50g honey roasted peanuts. *pre cooked weights I'm getting shredded with that due to being active and having a high metabolism and it works out to about 2000 cals. Download myfitnesspal and figure out your macronutrient requirements based on your activity levels, age and weight, then hit those macros and overall calories. You can now scan every piece of food packaging on there and it'll add the amount you want to your days eating. Also, diet drinks are what you do from now!

Thanks for the feedback.
I already have MyFitnessPal and it recommended me to drop to 1,500 calories a day.
I'll tell you how this diet plan came about. These past couple of years I've gained a lot of weight and I've boiled it down to a lack of exercise and lager, with the lager being a huge culprit in me by far overexceeding recommended calorie intake, and the lack of exercise meaning I wasn't cutting the deficit in any way. I also used to drink those glucose sports drink without actually exercising, and I came to the realisation that I was taking on excess carbohydrates which were then being stored as fat, making me bigger.
Using my limited knowledge of metabolic biochemistry, I figured that if I cut my carbs down significantly then my body would start using my fat reserves as a source of energy. Considering fat can't be transformed into glucose and parts of that body needing glucose to function, I figured this is where the protein comes in. I thought that cutting carbs and not increasing my protein intake would result in my muscle mass being largely affected and me just essentially starving myself.
Am I wrong in my assumptions?

Think so, I always thought of it as cutting calories tends to result in cutting weight + muscle, cutting carbs tends to cut weight+fat so long as your muscles get enough protein.
Removing the bulk of the carbs I ate and making sure I got enough protein worked eniugh for me. I know if I split thr macros up properly for each day I'd have had better results buf I'm a fussy eater as it is and this got me into reasonable enough shape.
I'd get some cardio involved too.

I'd say 1500 is too low, no matter how sedentary you are. also, to track the macros to make up for 1500 calories - for example - you'd go 1g of protein per pound of body weight, then I'd aim for 40-50g of fat and the remaining calories come in the form of carbohydrates. I do think 1500 is too low. However I'm unsure how correct your presumptions are because I'm cutting fat with minimal muscle loss without low carbing it, although I am consistently lifting which preserves muscle. My main worry with low carbs is as soon as you start to go back to a normal way of eating once you've lost however much weight you're comfortable with, the body won't be able to process all the extra carbs and store them as fat unless you're clever about it and reverse diet.

Deciding which 30 seconds I'd like to pull from a song for my posing routine is providing me with great difficulty. I have three that I like the sound of;
maybe go with the second one.
