Deserves whatever he gets for saying Donnarumma is shit all year. I thought it was gonna go the other way in the first 25 mins, Kane was playing like a prime Zidane in a false nine lmao.
Ridiculous how good he was in the first half.

Has to be questions raised at Southgate over that. The calls for Sterling as player of the tournament on here were genuinely laughable. He scored a couple of important goals but his general play has been terrible all tournament long. That's absolute rubbish. In the German and Denmark games he was the best player on the pitch by miles. He was also absolutely excellent against the Czechs and Ukraine and probably was only upstaged by Phillips against the Croats. He 1000% should have got player of the tournament despite what happened tonight. If Mason Mount had been half as good as Sterling you would have been on here wanking off about him.

Also I don't think I've ever seen a manager like Mancini's ability to change things up during a game when things aren't going his way and shift the momentum back to his team. He used to have a great knack for it with City too.

Has to be questions raised at Southgate over that. Agreed. But I was collectively told to go and fuck myself when I said this the other day when Southgate made awful decisions despite us winning (barely). I'm sure I'll be told to get to fuck again but fuck it, let's call a spade a spade We'll always be nearly nearly men at best under Southgate. The calls for Sterling as player of the tournament on here were genuinely laughable. He scored a couple of important goals but his general play has been terrible all tournament long. Get fucked

Exhausted but still completely wired and can’t get to sleep.
Still, World Cup next year. It’s coming home for Christmas (the inevitable Chris Rea parody rewrite).

It’s the hope that kills you. I find it hard to question how we set out when we took the lead after 2 minutes (and I understand, goals change games), but after that we looked so comfortable that it’s so difficult for me to really question what we did.

Lol I'm good, nearly got bottled but cest la vie.
Gutted for Saka. Thought Grealish was poor. Mount anonymous.
Donnarumma is still a donkey. They were shit pens.

What questions? Slight questions over pens but he’s answered everything else a million times over Fucking had absolutely nothing until they scored from a rebound, that’s just how football goes. Absolutely devastating I get that they didn't create too much but they absolutely ran the game from about the 20th minute.
But agree that Southgate shouldn't be questioned here.
They ran the game because we let them though? Like obviously the game wouldn’t have played out the same if we weren’t 1-0 up. Fair enough if you want to question that reaction but you can see from when we went chasing the game that our play was massively influenced by our lead.

Maybe you're right but Italy's midfield is just miles better than England's and I'd fancy it went that way anyway.
Feels proper English to say we let them have it lol. You don't just let a team have 71% possession with no threat on the counter because that's what we fancied doing.

He used to have a great knack for it with City too. My worry prior to game was we had a better team but a worse manager. Mancini pushing the fullbacks up the pitch after 15 minutes to neutralise our wing backs completely changed game and we didn't respond until after we conceded.

we lost complete control once Mancini took Immobile off. their movement got 100x better and the midfield were picking out passes for fun. Rice should have stayed on for the whole 90, unfortunately his sub looked even worse cos Henderson was fucking useless
