Can someone explain to me how women posting pictures of themselves without make up is helping to cure cancer? They're raising awareness for cancer. Because cancer is a disease that not many people know about. Fucking oxygen thieves.

Bints with kids constantly posting pics of their kids are the worst. I don't mind one every once in a while but 30 photos of one day at the local park... I wish Facebook would revert back to the good old days of 18 to 30 year old university students and you pretty much couldn't have an account unless you provided a valid university email address.

I've only seen two "no makeup cancer awareness" posts, but they've put a link up for donating to Cancer Research, so no complaints from me. It won't last as long as Neck and Nominate anyway.

lol exactly I don't wanna have a pop at anyone with good intentions but these charities would be better off with even a couple of quid rather than a load of disposable photos being uploaded onto social media websites they've got fuck all to do with

It's quite rare I use Facebook for anything really, usually when people are being idiots, but this is basically everything I had to say on it after it's started to appear on my news feed.
So tempted to get into arguments with people I don't even know about these selfies. Anyone who says that taking a selfie benefits cancer research in any way is an idiot to such a degree I can't even fathom. Imagine Cancer Research UK came out and said "get your front camera out and get the selfies going, every selfie raises £1 to cancer research #lolfuckucancer". Nah, they wouldn't. They'd ask mature people who are responsible enough to donate money, whatever sum, to a worthwhile cause to fight a disease which affects every single living person, not ask people to indulge their narcissism by taking a selfie under the guise of raising cancer awareness. 8.2 million people died of cancer in 2012 and people think they need to make us aware. No, you just want to take another fucking selfie. How about instead of that selfie which is donating nothing at all, to anyone except a little boost to your incomprehensibly low self esteem, you donate a tenner, or however much you can scrape up, to an actual charity which strives to combat cancer. And do it anonymously, don't put it all over Twitter and Facebook so people will praise you for it. Then it's not charitable, it's another annoying attention seeking ploy. Nice1.

I take it that I'm not the only one who likes to keep the number of people they follow as low as possible? I only follow 99 people. Could get rid of a few more probably but 99 is okay.
