Alex Rodrigo Dias Da Costa.
I cannae be bothered to write the reasons. But the fact he's not even in the Brazil squad is fucking disgraceful yet his protege and Dante and every other fucking nobodies gets ahead of him. He's starting alongside Thiago Silva. Thiago even prefers playing with Alex. What the hell does he need to do?!

Be better than Dante. Must be doing something right to play for the best team in the world.

Dante was terrible against us. He fucked up in the UCL final, and was responsible for the Man City loss at home. Granted, those are the only games I've really ever seen of Dante.

Ahem, putting my love for him aside though, he's definitely worthy of a place in the squad though. Okay, I can accept Dante and Marquinos tbh, 'cause one does start for the biggest club at the moment, and the other is a talented teenager who will definitely play for the national. It's the other ones that gets a callups. Can anyone name any other worthy Brazilian centreback. He hasn't even played since 2008.

g7vikings, I considered David Luiz and Thiago as the starting pair for Brazil. Was talking about the squad. I didn't make that clear tbf.

Dante is class. This is just another occasion when people remember player's performances as either brilliant or awful, and never anywhere in between.

Overrated by Vieira and Keane anyway. No idea how he got into their best team. Dante is really very good and would start for most nations of the world. And he would get in every national squad in the world, you can question his place in the team but you can't really question his place in the Brazil squad. At best Alex could be 4th centre back but might as well go for someone young like Marquinhos who is potentially another Thiago Silva and give him the experience. It's not easy to get in at Brazil, Fernandinho has hardly any caps, Rafael has only been capped twice etc.

Steve Finnan and Stephane Henchoz for Liverpool, for sure.
Gonna go ahead and say Edin Dzeko is under-rated - not so much in an overall extent, but certainly at City. Would love him at Liverpool.
Sadly, there's a lot more over-rated than under-rated players.

Eduardo. Had he not got that leg break he'd be hitting 25+ goals a year in England imo.
Obviously people said he was good and stuff but I think he was the best striker Arsenal have had since Henry left (aside RVP probs).

That doesn't make him underrated, just unlucky with injuries. He looked the part when he first joined arsenal but sort of disappeared into obscurity since, he's got a pretty poor goal tally for shakhtar doesn't he?
Tying in with my post in the goalkeeper thread, I'm going to give tim Howard a mention once again. Utter class goalkeeper.

I don't really think Finnan was underrated seeing as everyone agrees he was a really solid right back and good going forward. Forgotten about doesn't equal to underrated.
I'm also with Rizzy on Alex, maybe not the same extreme (I wouldn't give it to Alex up his bum), but he has always been an incredibly solid defender and off the top of my head I can't think of any errors he made at Chelsea. Maybe not worthy of a start for Brazil but never understood how he wasn't more involved in the squad
