I still think Frankie Boyle is one of the greatest UK comedians. I mean, yes his jokes have that shock value that instigates a reaction, but underneath it are truthful points about societies mentality and lifestyle.
Also, pretty sure he is my biological father. Scottish, Ginger, Hip-Hop fan and hates life. Sums me up.

I don't get Carlin tbh, problem is that basically everything he says seems really obvious but is made to sounds like it's some huge revelation. Like yeah, no shit, corporations only care about money, and the goal of the government is to stay in power first and foremost. It's like listening to a preachy 16 year old who finally realised that drugs aren't evil, I agree but it's not interesting to listen to because the opinion being made is just so basic. I think Star of Spurs nailed Hicks on the head as well, Positive Drug Story is fucking hilarious, but then he simulates sucking the devil's cock for 5 minutes and I get bored. Also, while I don't really care @djed isn't being a cunt true of a ridiculous amount of comedians? You love Jimmy Carr, and that guys a massive arsehole on stage.

I love Carlin when he's using his cynicism to build up to something like his Natural Disaster rant. He's also got a few of my favourite bits ever, like the "Phil Davis? I just saw him yesterday" conversation Boyle's the same as Hicks, can be hilarious but lately he's just mean, shock humour gets extremely old quicker than almost any other form of comedy I'm sad I've gone two pages and failed to see (and mostly mention) Hedberg, the man was probably the finest to ever do it

Carr's is an act though, Lee generally seems like a cunt of a person. Not in a nasty way, in a I really dislike his character way.

I used to love Lee Evans. The DVD from Cardiff in 2005 I must have watched at least 50 times.
Nowadays, Kevin Bridges, Stewart Francis, Jimmy Carr, Jon Richardson are my favourite when they do stand-up. Bridges especially, one of those who's just effortlessly funny.

Lee Evans has always been the worst comedian around. Always.
Jimmy Carr is the best, seriously nobody as sharp as him. One of the best I've seen is Stephen Merchant, he was brilliant. Went to see Jon Richardson the night the Olympics opened and he was great too.
Off the top of my head, the real two I want to see now are Kevin Bridges and Sean Lock. I'm not a fan of comedy in arenas though and Lock doesn't tour very often and just finished his latest, so may struggle there.
I've seen quite a few comedians now; Jimmy Carr definitely the best and no surprise Michael McIntyre was the worst.

I've never got in to stand up tbh. Am I missing out? I'm not a fan either but I must admit Childish Gambino made me laugh in those videos in the first post.

Not gonna lie, I'm very mainstream with my comedy and proud, find SOME of John Bishop's stuff absolutely hilarious, mainly his football jokes, and Jason Manford is another favourite, went to see his most recent tour and was pleasantly surprised considering his previous show was pretty average. Chris Addison can be quite funny too imo.

Bill Bailey will always be my favourite, the man is so fucking talented it is ridiculous.
Enjoy watching Kevin Hart do his stand up as well.
