Try focusing on something whilst you eat, music, a film, a book, quiz questions, just stuff to keep your mind occupied.

Not sure if it'll do anything for you but there is some self-help stuff on the NHS website, think changing minds website has some stuff too, mainly relaxtion exercises that might be worth trying. Involve listening to someone directing you one various reactions, breathing etc. Ah this is it: www.changingmindscentre.co.uk/v/relaxation_toolsI mean Proffessor Snape telling me to lie down and raise my arms didn't help but give it a go. But yeah, definitely needs the desire to seek help, GP's are woefully poor so hopefully you get sent to a support councillor better than mine.

Sounds like you're just massively homesick That's what I'm starting to think but I've been away from home for like 2-3 weeks before and never had a problem, obviously this is different mind. Genuinely enjoyed my first semester away as well. Just seems stupid, I'm not like tied to my mam or anything, don't feel like I should be homesick.

Well homesickness is a lot to do with feeling safe, if you're stressed due to exams/work/being in a new environment then you'll inevitably miss home because you see it as a safe place.

Yeah you sound incredibly homesick. Maybe going back home for Christmas made you miss it even though you enjoyed semester one. It is also worth looking at what U R GAY said about a possible intolerance. If you're very intolerant (dairy, gluten, wheat are the worst ones) then you can feel absolutely horrible.

Don't usually get stressed either, not exactly a worrier, quite the opposite normally.

Do you have friends where you live? Am I right to remember there was girl trouble relatively recently?
ie is your body telling you that you are missing emotional security?

Yeah I do have friends here, not the same as home but it's not like I'm a recluse. And yeah there was before I went home for xmas. Any elaboration on that?

Anyone ever find they've just stopped enjoying food? The last couple of weeks I haven't enjoyed a single thing I've eaten, everything is like a chore.

Anyone ever find they've just stopped enjoying food? The last couple of weeks I haven't enjoyed a single thing I've eaten, everything is like a chore. Entirely unrelated to other issues I've had but aye, had a three week period where I just couldn't be bothered eating. Would cook meals up and just sit there not fussed about eating it. Had blood tests done, nothing abnormal, then it just sort of went. Only thing I could put it down to was stress so it would make sense in your case.
