We've just destroyed a team which has gone to all of the top sides and put up a serious challenge. Also, the rest of the season is enough to judge us on. From that, we definitely deserve top 4. that team was decimated by injuries and absolutely woeful tonight though. didn't think you were that impressive. i know sometimes good performances are understated by how bad the opposition were but everton were dreadful tonight. obviously in years to come it'll look impressive but that's judging on the result and not on the performance

It's not like we didn't have injuries. Apart from their right back and one centre half they were full strength. We've had a makeshift defence for a few weeks now. Unfair to downplay our performance because they underperformed. We made them look ordinary by dismantling them on the counter. It was like a classic Man United performance.

Only saw the first half but the goals in it were all shocking from Everton. Sturridge's especially. The chip was such a FIFA goal.

So yeah, you scored four at home against a team missing half of their defense and countering the top scorer in the league with a 19 year old fullback. That's kind of a big deal. That being said, it was still a fine performance and Suarez/Sturridge is certainly purrrring right now. I just wouldn't base this as anything that vaults you back into the title chase just yet.

Steven Gerrard is not arsed anymore. Steven Gerrard doesn't care. He was fantastic tonight. Coutinho almost as good. We were all excellent though. The pressing is the best I've seen from us and we just killed them on the counter. Should have been 6 though. And that horrible twat Miralles should have gone again.

We had Aly Cissokho up against probably the second best winger in the league. I'm not deluding myself into thinking we're title challengers but if we're not serious top 4 contenders at this point then what are we? 70 points is easily achievable for us, we only need another 24 points from a possible 45 for that, which is more than manageable.

Oh and Daniel Sturridge. It's a massive love hate relationship we have. Should have been 6.

You are top 4 contenders. Just wouldn't be calling it a foregone conclusion based on tonight.

Who has been saying Steven Gerrard doesn't care anyway? Not that it counts for much, but Gianni Infantino for one.

Who has been saying Steven Gerrard doesn't care anyway? Guilty. Something else tonight though, I'll admit that. Our midfield didn't even have to do much on the ball, they did such a good job collectively of stopping them and then getting it through for the counter. If the likes of Sturridge, Gerrard, Sterling and especially Philippe fucking Coutinho (what a game he had, his footwork was mesmerising at times) put that kind of effort in every game, they'd walk off fucked but with 3 points most of the time.

Definitely serious top four challenge material, I'm just saying that while it's nice to win a derby match like that you probably shouldn't be snapping up those Champions League packages just yet.
