28 already. Seems like only yesterday the Premier League was beginning, fans filled with wide-eyed expectation and the misguided belief that this year would be their year. Oh how they were wrong. And so here we are, 28 weeks and two Europeans with horrible Manc accents later, staring down the barrel of the last 10 games of a season where the champions will be decided not on quality, good managing and flair, but who can manage the least shit 1-0 away defeats to a team in 17th.
Due to some sort of going on over at Wembley, all the Sunday games kick off at 4:30, and West Brom and Man United don't kick off at all, which, if you're a United fan, is probably a blessing. If you're not (and let's face it, you aren't - not now your new Chelsea shirt's arrived at least) then it's at best a bit of a pain in the arse because like me, you're going to completely forget that kick off is at 4.30 and end up missing the first half.
I'm not doing proper match write ups because I've just read the fixture list properly and I'm pretty sure that games like Hull v Newcastle and Aston Villa v Norwich are best summed up by a cold, unblinking silence anyway.
The match-up at the Britannia will not be at least one of those three things, depending on the weather and whether or not the people of Stoke have evolved eyelids yet, as Aaron Ramsey returns to the stadium where he suffered that most traumatic of experiences, having to play against Jermaine Pennant. Also he broke his leg and both sets of fans love banging on about it and apparently the Stoke fans are gonna sing "Aaron Ramsey, we thought you were dead" which is actually pretty funny and potentially true since nobody's seen poor Aaron in months and he's listed on my fantasy football side as "Expected return: unknown".
Give him three days and he'll roll the giant stone that's keeping him locked inside the Arsenal medical room to one side and come back and score a hattrick and then ascend in a heavenly light to an eternal afterlife at either City or Barcelona.
"Aaron Ramsey: Superstar" coming soon. Tickets available now.
