Think he broke it in pre-season and was initially told it didn't need an operation, then when he came back several months later after the operation he broke another part of his ankle that need operating on.
Pretty much typical of our luck with injuries tbf

Give it 20 years and Wilshere will be going to a hostage situation with a chicken and four pack of lager.

Fucking hell Paul hahaha.
Joking apart, I've noticed Wilshere does tend to get targeted by other teams quite a lot, he has rotten luck though evidently, absolutely dreadful time to get injured.

Wtf did he do to it to be out for 15 months in a row That was back when he injured himself in the Emirates Cup Apparently, he aggravated the injury in the England friendly against Switzerland the month before, then it got really bad in that friedly. I've forgotten that. (England game) Only thing I think I remember was Arsene Wenger basically pulling Wilshere out of that U21 tournament highlighting the fact he was basically about to break after a busy season with Arsenal. Andy Carroll was also pulled out of that tournament for the same reason but with Newcastle iirc, we all know how injury prone he is.

Genuinely so unlucky with injuries, every fucking year this is. Should you not then maybe be pointing the finger at your medical staff rather than claiming it's bad luck, if it's every single year?

no cos most of their injuries are obtained during a game, nothing to do with the medical staff

Can't blame a player having a persistent injury on the medical staff, especially when that injury may have begun whilst at another club.

Fingers have been pointed in that direction but our medical staff is so good they've started pinching our physios for England. It's just bad fortune, it's not just the injuries but the timing of them too.

Didn't they lose Gary Lewin to England around 08 at the start of the WC qualifying campaign? I don't recall them having this injury stereotype for that long, so that would seem a reasonable time frame. Not saying it's the ONLY factor but if they genuinely think they suffer more injuries than other teams (who will have similar squad sizes, number of games, fixture congestion, etc.) then the difference has to come from somewhere? Or do they just attract more fragile players/more fouls from other teams (granted that last one might play some part)?

I don't think Arsenal are any more unlucky with injuries than anyone else tbh. I think our entire squad has been out injured at some point this season except Suarez. Looked earlier and saw that Sakho has only played 13 times this season in all competitions. If anything, midweek International friendlies in March should be scrapped. Stupid timing. Mignolet
Johnson Agger/Skrtel Sahko Enrique
Henderson Lucas Gerrard
Coutinho Sturridge Suarez That's probably our strongest team and 8/9 out of that 11 have been absent for more then a month (although in Suarez's case it was a suspension)

I thought it had become a running joke that we regularly suffer injury "crisis'" where the players we lose are usually in the same positions. I'd have said in the past we did attract more fouls than other teams, more rough treatment. Went digging and found this for this season at least.
