that points system doesn't really work, some teams have massive squads which will distort it

And we have Diaby too. Gives a rough estimate though.

Diaby accounts for at least 10% of that, then Kallstrom will be in there too despite not having played a game either. A few tell a lie in a way.

I think Arsenal have been fairly lucky with injuries this season actually. They've managed to have their back 5 fit nearly every week (Gibbs was out for a few weeks iirc), Giroud has went the whole season uninjured bar like 10 days, I can't remember Ozil/Arteta/Flamini/Cazorla/Rosicky having any injuries. I know they've had Walcott, Chamberlain, Podolski and Ramsey out, but they seem to have gotten injuries in their strongest positions. If a defender or Giroud had got injured for example they'd be absolutely fucked but they've managed to keep them all fit, despite playing pretty much every game.

Aye usually it's problems at the back that have cost us in recent years, this season though it's just the timing of them. Losing Walcott was a massive dent in our season, Ramsey too. It's the timing at the moment that we're without some of our key players this season for our toughest run of games.

Although I see your point, particular in our back line staying fit, Cazorla missed like the first three months of the season and Arteta missed a good chunk as well I believe. We've been lucky in that our injuries have mainly been midfielders.

Yeah I agree with that. I think mainly I'm amazed they've kept their back 5 intact for nearly every game this season, and also gotten away with having one striker. Though I think Walcott is as big a blow as losing someone like Cazorla or Ozil because they're replacable within the squad whereas Walcott isn't really.

Didn't they lose Gary Lewin to England around 08 at the start of the WC qualifying campaign? I don't recall them having this injury stereotype for that long, so that would seem a reasonable time frame. Not saying it's the ONLY factor but if they genuinely think they suffer more injuries than other teams (who will have similar squad sizes, number of games, fixture congestion, etc.) then the difference has to come from somewhere? Or do they just attract more fragile players/more fouls from other teams (granted that last one might play some part)? I thought it had become a running joke that we regularly suffer injury "crisis'" where the players we lose are usually in the same positions. I'd have said in the past we did attract more fouls than other teams, more rough treatment. Went digging and found this for this season at least. 200 of your points are Abou Diaby. Arsenal tend to lose their bigger players to injury than most, but I don't think they're any worse off in terms of numbers than other teams. Spurs have been without Kaboul for almost 2 years now, had Sandro, Rose, Lamela, Vertonghen and Chiriches all out for 3 months or so, if not more this season, for example. edit - just seen you used Diaby yourself. Bastard.

We've had almost everyone out injured at some point this season, except the likes of Valencia and Young who we would have actually benefited from losing for a while. Although we haven't been that great recently with some of our best players back so the problems run deeper than that.
Chelsea do seem to have been lucky with injuries this year.

Injuries make me depressed, in a past life we wud have had a Kaboul/King partnership ruling for years
Aaron Lennon aswell fair enough he aint been on it this season but any time in the last 3 years he's hit a bit of form he's been struck by injury fucks me off cos people use this to slide at his actual ability, some sideways dickhead thing
Sandro aswell if he was luckier with injuries he'd be at Madrid or Juve by now I swear

'Use of the 'Y bomb' is strictly prohibited however feel free to sing about Auschwitz and make hissing gas chamber noises' is probably what the whole message said

01 de Gea 02 Rafael 03 Evra 31 Fellaini 12 Smalling 04 Jones 08 Mata 16 Carrick 20 van Persie 10 Rooney 44 Januzaj Quite a decent looking team but the defense worries me as usual.

Received an email last night that was informing fans that use of the 'y word' is strictly prohibited. Made me chuckle. You really are a fucking spanner I'd take a draw tonight but fully expecting us to lose.

Calling it now, our best player will be Lloris. Last few performances have been poor, Chelsea will have a field day.
