Aye I fancy Haye would have finished Fury quite early, just think it'd be a 'bigger' fight promotion wise and style wise. Fury and Haye are both good shittalkers, Groves is frankly awful and Froch spends too much time talking himself up. That and I desperately wanted Haye to be the one to shut Fury up.
Possibly Chappy, it's definitely huge domestically.

Froch vs Groves II is the much bigger fight, it'll be far more competetive and is between two very good fighters. The appeal of Haye vs Fury was to see Fury get KTFO, which is probably why it appealed to so many casuals, whereas the appeal of Froch vs Groves is to see another brilliant boxing match that you could make a good case for going either way. The way the last fight ended just adds to the build up too. It's going to be huge.

Sold out in an hour, I knew it was big. I think they're gonna try and put a further 20,000 on sale as well.
That push and all that yesterday was a bit cringy though imo, looked staged.

part of me was cynical that it was all a bit staged, part of me was still hooked like a kipper and bought right into it
Reckon the Froch/Groves bit is all staged but Froch's bother was making a right tit of himself.
60k sold in an hour is huge, but an awful lot have already begun to appear on touting websites at 2 to 3 times face value. Think Hearn said 50k tickets were sold to 12500 unique hits so a good chunk will have ended up with touts and secondary sellers.

Some fight between Bellew and a Russian. Russian knocked down twice, got up nearly beat him only to punch him in the balls then got knocked right out in the final round. Great stuff. Also, sat through that Rocky Fielding fight. Boring.

Thoughts on Kell Brook Simon/Chappy/Dan ie people with better judgements than I?
Reckon he's been hirdeously protected by Matchroom to the extent I really don't know what his true level or potential is. Also seems to have a somewhat questionable attitude too. Mentioned I'd like to see Khan vs Brook as I think it's a good match-up, but realistically do you lot think he belongs on world level? Tbf he's looking to face the winner of Porter/Malignaggi, neither of whom I'd say are that far ahead of him but it's hard to tell with the way he's been matched up.

I like him but he clearly has some flaws that will probably get exposed when he steps up, he can't fight on the inside for shit. He better hope Malignaggi wins because he might have half a chance but Porter will get inside and brutalise him as he's so easy to hit to the body.
I don't think fights like Saturday do him any favours though, he's been fighting shit fighters for too long and he seems to fight down to their level because when he fought the 3 best fighters in his career Senchenko, Hatton and N'Dou he produced his best performances.
You're supposed to gradually progress and learn as you fight a better standard of fighter but Brook learns absolutely nothing from the majority of his fights because they're showcase fights, they're not competitive which will hurt him when he finally does step up.

Kell Brook is a good fighter and he could and perhaps should be in a much better position career-wise than he is now imo. I think Matchroom have had a fairly damaging effect on his career because they've arguably hindered his progress by giving him so many uncompetitive fights. When you consider that his pro career started 10 years ago it's odd to think that he's still being given tune up fights against fairly poor opposition instead of each fight being a step up to get him prepared for world level.
I think if his career had been handled differently he could have progressed and improved and been fighting for world titles a while ago. As it stands now, it's obviously not too late for him, but his lack of experience against quality opponents will make things difficult when stepping up. As Chappy says though, his best performances have been against his toughest opponents so he may well step up better than expected. He's definitely a talented fighter, but it's hard to know where he stands because of the opponents he's faced.

Brook has been unlucky with injury/injury to Alexander when they were meant to fight before, then he got into the mandatory position again and was unlucky that Porter beat Alexander because that delayed the mandatory defence being called for another 3 months.
Anyone see the Scott vs Wilder 'fight'. Wonder how much Malik Scott took for taking that dive, ridiculous

It did look very, very suspicious; reminiscent of Tyson vs Seldon.
Hook landed to the temple, which obviously disorientates, but it didn't look enough to cause real trouble. The straight right doesn't even appear to land, Scott's head doesn't move.

There's a photo that shows the right hand lands a little bit but I must admit the first time I saw the replay I was thinking WTF!?
You could even tell the announcers(Showtime) were thinking huh!? but without saying it, Bernstein was like "hmmm the right hand didn't really land."
That shit looked fishy as fuck.

Daniel Sturridge dived better than that for the 3rd penalty yesterday ffs! Yanks will have to make Deantay Wilder look good, America's next hope for a World Heavyweight Title iirc. Can't have him struggling to beat opponents

Left doesn't even land clean, more of an open-handed hit, the right wasn't even a full blooded shot by the look of it either. Definitely looks worse the more you see of it.
And seems as if we're all roughly agreed on Brook then, potential but yet to be tested at the top level.
